Hey man that means you can work on animations
In the future (i don't think 0.8.1 ^^) we will need animation and voices: look at this: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4003
Each voice = one animation IMHO (note that a character could also speak without moving and its contrary)

But we will need a list of locked character (Each character will be lot's of work) ; that's why i always says mozilla should be replace (-> his size is too big, he can't be interchangeable ! ) elephpant and puffy will also be a real problem...not hexley for example because in the future we will have to choose a kart in the existing one (Kart of emule, kart of pidgin with different characteristics).

Even if i understand we could like character such as mozilla, elephpant, puffy (because they are in the game since lot's of time... an attachment to them can exists )
Purely objectively and without jokking they are the worst character because of future technical problems: so we can't work on them QED.

I agree for Mozilla, it's dificult kart and elephant, the texture is medium bot the kart is funny !

Seriously, I think they are funny karts and Mozilla's tail sticking forward can be a real pain in the exhaust in group collisions, which makes it even funnier.

Also, I don't like the idea of interchangeable karts and characters. I think it will lead to uniform and boring graphics.
E.g., there is no way you can have any other character drive the Puffy, Blinky, Adiumy or Gnu karts.
I really like the fact that some karts are driven in a very bizarre way (e.g., Gnu) and that there are different driving and even propulsion systems in general.
Making *ALL* characters and karts interchangeable would destroy this fun diversity.

Wouldn't it be possible to have certain "sane" characters that can switch their karts while keeping the whacky gang in the game?

Don't panic, your friends will be still there in add-on if people change them we can't just stay like that, the game has to be better and better.

This is the exact contrary, more diversity with different physic for each kart
