Jungle Track 2 - Land Of The Jumps

Jungle Track 2 - Land Of The Jumps

Postby Hero » 03 Nov 2012, 00:21

So now after finishing with Kingdom Of Fire except for drive-line exporting I'm to work on another huge edit of an existing track. Behold! A hint:

new_track_hint.png
A hint on my next track. What is it? Answer me please!

So start guessing. Soon I'll rename the topic and give you the first .blend. But to involve the community a bit this should be fun.

And sorry about the pic. I'm not the best kid at drawing.

It is an existing track. But I like roller coaster. I should make that sometime.

Done the edits! But can anyone guess what the track is?

What about another hint:

Hint two. But what is it?

It looks like the stunt that James Bond did to get across the kanal. He raced over a pier, made a full flip and landed on another pier. I think it was from the Man with the Golden Gun.

No one? Shame. But now I'll release it after testing it a bit. What is it? An edit of Amazonian Journey AKA Jungle of course! Test it, name it, shame it. But let's get to work.

I think that the zippers are having trouble. Yes I did test the track and noted bugs in reverse but I need more tests by the community. That's mainly why I posted.

Jooost: You have to know some tricks. Use your knowledge of physics and you'll be fine. And stay on the inside of the first jump.

I haven't tested GOING on the loop. When you get on to the bridge you should ho to the left and skip the loop part of the loop (unless you want some adventure). That is the proven way. But can you do the loop?

nope, but I think the track you made could be a great test-bed to explore STKs physics and possible stunts :) keep it on! Oh, and try to make the ramps smoother! Often times I get in the air while halfway on the ramp, ruining my jump.

The loop is difficult for the Kart and for me.

The road must be right (She's not right)

Think also about the track back to front (option)

Reverse mode: I am trying to fix those bugs but it takes a lot of modelling, exporting, testing and remaking.

Just checked and sorry you can't go on the loop of the loop the loop.

I've just fixed the track but I need to get back onto our main computer to upload. Expect... 1 to 16 hours.

About the pick-ups in odd locations. That is because I have to copy the Scene.xml from the original Jungle Track which contains pick-up information since my exporter wasn't wroking. Now that I have a version that works I may be able to take out those pick-ups.

To me putting barriers on the loop-the-loop will make it look ugly. But yes I can put invisible barriers there.

Could you explain your last picture please? You either meant that it goes UNDER the sand (this is not a bug but I could fix it) or that the bridge goes under the other one (this was my main idea on this track).

The loop-the-loop has been tested in both easy and hardest mode and is satisfactory for me. You don't need to go around. I may tweak it a bit though.

Last picture : make the road under the bridge (make an entire road) we take the other bridge when we pass by there and rescue.

The loop the loop it's difficult for the karts and for me, can not do it the entire. (make it smoother)

1.: I don't understand what you mean.

2.: Yes I plan to look into this. However it is dificult without SubSurf which I don't want to risk. But yes I'll try.

BTW: The loop wasn't originally for play. But maybe we could get it to work. Maybe.

It would be awesome if you could. :)

I don't think well done barriers would look ugly; some kind of wooden fence posts, ascii art:

I'm working on it a bit. But Bullet can be weird.

What about a contest. I'll do both in separate B3D exports and we'll see.

STKRudy85 had a western WIP track on here with a loop, that I think worked. you could try that.
