I think I don't have to tell you that some textures aren't placed perfectly and can be seen through in places? This is especially noticeable on the way through the house, where the track is glitching through the surface.
Apart from that, I had a time of about 33 seconds for both routes. I think the length is reasonable, and I like the fact both ways are more or less equal.
On the meadow, I would add some cows (preferably inside the fence) or other animals. Having some nice trees as in your mock-up will help a lot as well. You need to include some random objects as well to make each part of your track stand out a bit, so that the player feels a bit like being home. :)
Inside the tunnel, I'd suggest to have some water flowing towards the sea, so you drive over a bridge in a small cave. This would make that part a bit more interesting as well.

here is an update, but it has a bug. The AI karts don't take the alternative path, though I have done everything right I think.

ctdabomb {l Wrote}:here is an update, but it has a bug. The AI karts don't take the alternative path, though I have done everything right I think.

I had a look at that. One problem is that the driveline quads on the main driveline are too short (usually that doesn't matter, but at the fork it does). The AI will try to go to the shortcut, but will actually reach the next short main driveline quad before reaching the shortcut. Then it will think it has missed the branch, and continue on the main point.

Unfortunately, when I fixed that it still didn't work. I won't have time before next week to look at that, but for now assume that it will work ;)

Cheers,

I'm sorry to say that but actually I think your track is not a good track. It reminds me of the old ones in tux kart

Don't take it bad, but you can't become 3D modeller in one week. It takes time to learn and practice. It's a full time job and not an easy job. I've been there myself

Your track has many problems
1) The path of the track is bumpy. Make it smooth. It's the main part of the scene
2) Forget the old and ugly textures. Please use HD textures. You can also find some texture on public domain website
3) In the canyon you can make some improvements. On google image you can find some nice references pictures
4) An oasis can be added because the track is mainly desert. With an oasis you add a variation
5) The tunnel in the ground is too bumpy. Like item #1
6) The transition between the track and the ground can be smoothed. You can see the other track and the blend file to see how it's made
7) Minigolf has a nice river. Open the .blend file and try to use the same trick in sand track

More could be said but those are the most important points. If you don't think you are able to do that, or if it seems too complicated, I suggest putting STK tracks aside a bit and practice blender and gimp

I did a lot of work on this today and though an update would be a good idea.
I mainly just redid the whole path, worked a lot on the house, and a bunch of other stuff. :D

Hi ctdabomb...

Not bad...it was quite a challenge. :)

A couple things I would recommend would be to develop the mountainous area by the river. It's all rock and quite barren. It doesn't quite fit, in my opinion, with a house and farm scene. The second thing would be to remove the glass siding along the track that goes inside the house and make it more like something you would find in Oliver's math class.

Regards...
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ loves and cares about you most of all!

How do I know this personally? Please read here.

hmmm..... sounds a bit basic....
betharatux1 {l Wrote}:i want to report something maybe support your track. :)

well, I never intended people to view the track from this angle, and most normal players won't, so I don't think this is an issue.

and I think the road isn't too narrow, but if others think so, I can change it I suppose.
