TL;DR asks for exposure on Free Gamer, feigns offense at refusal due to GV not being FOSS, trolls repeatedly including pretending to be 2 people

FreeGamer and Galactic Vice
Email by Gravity Games
Dear Sir or Madam,
First off may I say how wonderful of a site you have--FreeGamer is no doubt a true gem of the Open Source community.
I contact you today with regards to a video-game I manage called Galactic Vice (or "Gv" if you will). Gv is a free game with high-quality graphics that runs on both Windows and Linux. It fits nicely in the RTS category with Starcraft 2 and the likes, and is free because of its licensing. It has been under active development for several years now which is a testament to our extraordinary dedication.
I believe it would be mutually beneficial for Gv to have FreeGamer's support, in order to provide blog updates for Gv's progress. The attention a high-profile game would generate is no doubt worth the time in blog posts? And of course Gv would benefit from the... advertising (for lack of a better, less-harsh word).
Gv has reached another landmark release which will be published this Saturday the 10th. I believe the users of your site would thoroughly enjoy a in-depth article on Gv--what it is, where it is now, and where it is going in the future. If you are interested I would be happy to provide you with any information you need to make this possible.
I look forward to your response.
Thank you,
Gravity Games.

In amongst your incredibly hard-to-read website (grey text on a grey background, really?) there is this:
> Is Galactic Vice open source? Answer: No, much to our dismay it is not.
It is off-topic for the blog. For this reason, we will not be covering it.

Fair enough, although I think it still fits into the category of [Free]Gamer even if the source is closed.
Thanks,
Gravity Games.

Our blawg is about open source games only, sorry for the confusing wording

Yes its very deceiving. Is there any reason your site leader was, perhaps a bit rude in replying?
Thanks,
Gravity Games.

Oh, ok. I get it--your bitter because Gv is closed source. No hard feelings.
But you know, the current course of action is not exactly conducive with Gv becoming open source. Excuse my bluntness (and with all due respect), all I see in the FOSS world is bunch of arrogant jerks who reject fine works on account of miniscule licensing differences.
... Which is actually the reason why Gv is closed source as you can see on our About page. It was FOSS (GPLv3 and CC) until one of your FreeGamer members trolled the forums with license changing requests. But if you want to keep up the trend that is certainly your choice and I will respect that.
Have an excellent day,
Gravity Games.

Um, it's not bitterness.
Free Gamer - Free, open source game and development news
(free as in FSF free).
Gv is off-topic. We don't cover other non-foss games. Why should we make an exception of Gv?
There's not much I can do about your experience of the FOSS community. Most of us are passionate about software freedom, and I guess sometimes that manifests itself in less-than constructive ways.
Saying that, you changing your licensing because of interaction with one person indicates it was never a principle for you, but an means to an end, and in that light your opinion of us as "arrogant jerks" (and we're trolling?) doesn't mean too much to me.

PS. Are you MyEmail?

Hey Gravity Games,
I haven't read the thread so no comment on that. But if a troll made you switch development philosophies that is a shame.
We certainly don't want to nurture trolls, we ban them.
Cheers
Iwan

There is an FAQ on the blog.
That you did not read it is not our fault. You seem to be aware of open source but do not understand it; Free software is a well known open source term.
The wording is not confusing. I don't know why Qubodup apologised.
Also I was not rude. I was matter-of-fact. You are a troll. Please stop looking for a fight.
- CFree Gamer FAQ {l Wrote}:What exactly is a Free game?
A Free game (emphasis on the capital 'F') is a Free Software game. Free Software (often incorrectly confused with the term open source) is software whose source code and media are made available under a license permitting modification and redistribution. It is better explained by the experts.
An open source game may have non-free media or have non-commercial and other restrictive clauses in their licensing. Some of our posters are quite interested in the development of several open source titles, so they do get mentioned. Fortunately, often an open source game with non-free media is accompanied by a longer term effort to replace the media with updated, Free-ly licensed content.

I really don't understand your opposition to me Charlie. I was suggesting a license change for Galactic Vice but all I see is more arrogant jerkish-nesh, confirming my need to stay closed-source.
Thank you,
Gravity Games.

BUT YOU DID NOT SUGGEST A LICENSE CHANGE?!!?
What the hell?!

Just stop emailing / contacting us. You obviously are incapable of interacting with people without invoking fury.
You troll non-stop for a week until you get banned (and not by me, I might add), and now you're at it again in private email. You call me rude, our community arrogant jerks, reject the open source philospohy, then come across as bemused that I do not know something ONLY IN YOUR HEAD - a fictional possible change of license - which apparently makes ME TO BLAME for not being a fucking psychic!?!?
I GIVE UP WITH YOU. GO AWAY YOU BIZARRE INDIVIDUAL.

Yes, I did. My third email was very suggestive to that cause--I would be fanatic if Galactic Vice was FOSS again.
... Wait a second? Is this on account of Jon trolling freegamer forums? If so all I have to say is: Rofl, that guys is a freakin' genius with his trolling method--you really got your ass(s) handed too you. Lol, he really knows how to work people. Reasons like that are why I hire guys like him--genius high-school dropouts thirsty for success.
But no hard feelings right? Your member trolled my site my member trolled yours. Its just a little bit of fun that only bruises egos.
Anyway,
Gravity Games.

Well, look at it from my point of view--you just cussed me out when I offered a licensing change.

Nice try troll.
You offered nothing other than trolling. And you're doing it more.
Good luck with life.

Wow, I though the way you acted was merely a side-effect of Jon's trolling, but maybe "arrogant jackass" is just built into your nature. Can I please talk to a competent member, one who is mature enough to see past the troll situation?
----
Email by Charlie
There is nobody available to talk about a non-foss game or fictional offers to open source a non-foss game.
When you have an online source repository with a third party provider (Sourceforge, Google Code, Github etc) then we'll be happy to help.
Good luck with your project. Thanks for letting us know about Gv and sorry we couldn't be more helpful.

Ah hell, you guys are just pissed because Galactic Vice is successful and it irks you that its closed source, where your little FOSS projects on FreeGamer can only dream to be 1/10 of what Galactic Vice is now.
Eat it losers,
Jon.

DAMMIT Jon, stay out of this. You've caused enough trouble already.

I would eat it but that might break my computer.
You should see a doctor about that split-personality disorder.

I really do apologize, this situation has got out of hand. Perhaps it is best of Galactic Vice to stay closed-source and FreeGamer separate. Don't worry, you won't be hearing from us again (which I am sure is a relief due to the events that have transpired--but it really is too bad it ends this way).
Sorry again.

I feel a bit bad. We want to support high school dropouts as we know they struggle with integration in to society.
Is there nothing we can do?
