Introduce yourself

Hello! I like to go by mcc. I've been developing indie games for the last few years under the banner Run Hello. (It's an Apple // reference.)

My projects so far:
Jumpman - Start with a retro, 2600-era platformer, then add 3D and physics and and rotating levels and destructable terrain and eye-melting spatial loops. And you'd wind up with basically this.
iJumpman - iPhone version of Jumpman. A bit of an experiment on how to control a 2D platformer with touch controls.
The Snap - Mockup 2-player deathmatch shooter with time travel, made in 40 days for a competition.

...and then I have two other big projects, these last two targeting PC+iPhone+Android, that are near completion.

While I've been making my games, I've been trying whenever it makes sense to pick out stuff that seems like it would be reusable by other people and release it as open source. I'd actually probably do more of this than I have so far, but I've not gotten the sense people were really using the stuff I'd released! So I was really excited when I found this forum over the weekend and realized there actually was something like an "open source game community" out there.

All this said, honestly the main reason I'm here is to promote something :) I released this weekend what I think of as version 2.0 of the "open source parts" to my games I mentioned-- the framework underlying my two unfinished projects, basically. So I'm going to head over to the showcase forum and make a post about that. I'm hoping to stick around after that though!

Sooo, a developer of closed-source middleware and games, for a closed source engine, that only runs on closed source platforms (for the time being). Well, welcome to Freegamedev, Open Source Game Development Forums :D

Hello! I am tenach, also known as Thomas, and I am from the Pacific Northwest of the United States.

I am very new to game development and this has been one place I'd been lurking around for a while. Now that I have a game project in the works, I decided that I'd join and be more proactive in my learning and contributing where I can.

Hi guys, I am HyPE|Darkside from northeast USA and I've been interested in RE for a while now.

I currently play assaultcube competitively for a clan called HyPE, but would like to start playing RedEclipse as a general interest.

Although it doesnt seem like redeclipse has many competitive players/clans yet, I hope to see some in the future.

Feel free to say hi if you see me in-game, it's always fun to meet new people. You can also email me at hypeclan.darkside@gmail.com

Thanks,

HyPE|Darkside

Hello!
I am really into all this open-source idea. I use Ubuntu and quite of the time I reporting bugs to launchpad and such stuff. Sometimes I am helping devs with icons for their apps, though never made through the final submission, anyway I like to contribute in open-source area.
I made the account here because i wanted to post feedback for redeclipse devs. I think i might be really a big part of feedback there :D That game has a great potential.
So... oh ;D
I myself am originated from Lithuania, but at this time I am in ROI and I'm 18 years old.

Hi Blendi!
Your kart looks really interesting. Nevertheless you should post it rather in STK's subforum than here since it could get lost here. Also be sure to include a license file or to say under which license your work is released.

---

Hi !

I am working on singleplayer FPS game, which is VERY rare these days. I don't think there is a single one that is opensource and free !

Here is a youtube video of what it looks like today.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8HpTYD1q10

Sorry about the poor video quality and lack of sound, I will upload a better version tommorow. The game is still being worked upon so expect much better graphics and gameplay in future.

True that. (Well, perhaps http://www.parallelrealities.co.uk/proj ... onquer.php counts).

Release soon, release often and feel free to make a thread in showcase once there's a (pre(pre))release. ;) It looks nice so far character-, osd- and texture-wise.

PS: reminds me of World of Padman. Is it inspired by it? Or by them canceling SP plans? Do you happen to use their textures and/or engine? (Clueless curiosity speaking here.)
