Dual Invasion Hard Reset Bullet Assault

This is an old project of mine, written in Python, a fully GPLv2 project. The concept here is that it is a versus-only bullet hell shooter game, with bits of strategy elements (such as spending energy to create units that shoot and behave independently) and "positive japanese craziness" mixed in. Back a year ago, I managed to develop it to a good phase, where there was already 4 quite nicely developed characters to use in the basic gameplay mode, that is, a normal versus match. My intention was to make it to 6 characters and to develop an "Invasion" gamemode where the idea is, instead of killing your opponent, pushing the "front line" forward, until he is pushed off the edge of the level. This progress would also hamper his ability to collect powerups.

However, it is graphically ugly (I can do everything but not most things very well, I am mostly interested in coding, design and making soundtracks) and I didn't manage to ever develop the Invasion gamemode. 2 characters are also missing from the original development goal. I think the concept here is pretty doable, and still possible to develop, and I might be willing to continue developing this if there is any interest in a game of this sort.

This is an ugly screenshot, but that's just about how it looks like now. The gfx definitely need improvements (there are no real animations either, just dudes floating in battlespace.)
