theres nothing to see,
the run steps are more synchronized now to the actual speed of the player. so its supposed to look better ingame.

Was it really necessary to make a separate post for all of these? And having them in separate .blends is also inconvenient.

But enough with complaining, great that someone is taking up animation!

Did you see the new somewhat improved arms that I uploaded here:
viewtopic.php?f=82&t=4361&start=50
Those need new animations actually, so I think it's a bit of a waste of time trying to fix the totally broken old arms.

Nice work! Looks a lot more lively than the current one, like the player is definitely up to no good. My only quesitons are: does it transition smoothly to the crouch idle animation you posted, and the crouch side animations? And how exactly do you extract the animation from the .blend file?

In any case, it's great to see an experienced Blender animator helping us out :) . You should probably get on the Red Eclipse IRC and talk to Quin about getting involved and getting your stuff included, because it's really good and we're short on animators.

i just decided to try out and see if i can make some good animations.
im not well experianced or something.
i dont know how to export it,

you adress me to quin but quin adressed me to this forum. theres no actual movement in the irc. and people are more concern about rules in irc chat then actual something else. like posting a chat log instead of integrating animations.

is this forum not best place to post these?
shall i stop?

Please take these words of advice to heart:

"Calm down, be patient"

Really, it's nice you're contributing. However, when trying to get people into doing their part, you are pretty impatient. We're not people working on this project from 9 to 5, being paid on our performance. If there is anything in this project, it's the occasional donation quin receives. It's pure volunteer work, which is for an important part done for fun. Therefore, you shouldn't expect things to be done the exact same minute. You really ought to calm down.

For what it's worth, yes, I understand your frustration on not seeing movement. It's easy to miss that when you're not following the whole project. But a lot does go on behind the scenes, and not just your work. So please be more patient, and it'll all work out in the end.

Try to talk to Luckystrike, he's the one that handles the player animations.
Maybe you can try to make static .obj models for decoration of the maps, for understanding how to configure basic stuff for the game :)
I myself play the game with no models in the hud, no actual textures etc, so that's nota problem for me.

Edit: ahh seems like someone else did those already. Well if you are a skilled modeler, new weapon models would be highly apprechiated I guess.

About getting the anims in the game, just export some replacement .iqms from these and copy them into the correct directory. Should work as is since RE uses a seperate mesh/rig and animation system. If you upload them here too, I am sure that they will be given consideration for inclusion into the official version too.

Yes, a .blend file is pretty much useless to me. I am not a modeler, nor do I have the time or patience to deal with someone who can't do things for themselves. Yes, it's great you want to contribute, but I need the community to be the judge because I am not capable of doing so.

It's actually a nice cartoonish look and it reminds me of warsow a little... But I don't think about playing like that :)

@ chronomaster: please take TheLastProject's advice to heart as he is telling you the exact right thing to do: be more patient. Try to take your time to create all the things you want to do (animations / weapon models), polish it as much as possible and then open a thread (not 10 at once) to gather some feedback from the conmunity. This process needs some time for you to work on and for us to review everything. We really can use some new stuff at that front and we're a very helpful community but don't rush in here and expect that all heads turn your way at the snap of a finger. Take a look at the new arms Julius has posted and maybe you can advance from there. ;)
