Red Eclipse IRC: Everyone's banned!

So I was talking with some people (sniper and pyro and some other guys) ingame, and they all said that they'd been banned from the Red Eclipse IRC and they didn't know why. Later, I decided to see for myself, and I got the message:
#redeclipse Cannot join channel (+b) - you are banned
Is there a reason, or is it just a glitch?

Also, manishrw said he'd gotten global banned, does anyone know anything about that and how to fix it?

Yes, I also now get the ban message. My guess is someone accidentally set permissions to something that they did not want it to be. Occasionally a hostile will hack control over a channel.

Due to an increase in abuse, and lack of (or poor) support from freenode staff, the web gateway often gets banned. Unfortunately it is nearly impossible to stop someone wanting to abuse it from doing so. The simplest solution to this problem is to find a real IRC client, and install it. As for anyone being globally banned, I can tell you now that there is not a single global ban entry in the database presently.

In my recent test this issue with the webclient has been solved.
