Auria {l Wrote}:From reading this thread, I get the feeling that some people are referring to "slipstreaming" when they say "drafting". Gets confusing which is which. I suggest not using this word, we have "splistreaming" and we have "skidding". Using the proper term will make things easier to follow, folks!

Yes, I had the very same thought when replying to the first post here. With the terms drafting and drifting, misunderstandings are inevitable. It seems that all comments here really only do refer to slipstreaming (drafting).

I think Slipstreaming is fairly easy to accomplish and has sufficient visual cues. It's fairly useful for a few of the longer courses from my experience.
I can see arguments about it's validity when faced with the Bowling Ball item, but I think that argument can be better applied to the games' weird item balance then to the technique's apparent uselessness.

We should "take advantage" of currently active Gsoc students to introduce nitro while slipstreaming (and not drifting :) )

You gain one unit of nito per 3 sec (it seems to be a good ratio). This mecanism does exist in some other games with nitro such as Nfs for example and make the game be a bit more tactical.

If hiker or auria want, i can post a ticket (with low priority) because the current slipstreaming bonus is hard to realize, so 80% useless :p
