STK as SourceForge's Project of the Month - your vote needed

Postby hiker » 02 Feb 2013, 12:04

Hi,

SuperTuxKart was selected as one of the 9 project to compete for SourceForge's project of the month award in March. The actual decision is done by a public poll, so if you think that STK should win, please go to http://vote.supertuxkart.net, which will redirect you to the actual poll, where you can also see all competitors. At this stage we are a distant third (18, 11, then us with 5), so we appreciate any votes, and any advertising you can do ;) E.g. publishing this in different languages so that people who might not read this English language forum are aware of this. Any other suggestions welcome as well ;)

Cheers,
Joerg

Sure, I will. Can you get me some nice new screenshots?

@funto, can you, or someone else, get pictures of you using the wiimote to control the game or a video? What would be really effective is a video of windowed Supertuxkart with another window webcam recording someone using the wiimote.

@antoine We can just create a news for wii support with this picture to illustrate ;): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wiimote-in-Hands.jpg The author --> "I, the copyright holder of this work, release this work into the public domain. This applies worldwide.

Wow! STK racked up an impressive 50% of the votes (of 245 votes total).
It's good to see we have so many fans...

I'm doing my best to raise awareness on English language websites, but if you speak another language, then please post about STK and the vote.

Hi,

we are nearly 50 votes behind :( I've created a promotional video showing off the upcoming support of wiimotes in game, but also asks for people to vote:

Please spread the word / video - ideally on twitter ;)

Do other forums such as red eclipse, Supertux etc... know something about the Sourceforge poll ? It could be a good way to earn some votes.

Totoplus62, I think the forums you mention are not sufficiently related to STK to warrant posting there

Some people are like slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't help smiling when you shove them down the stairs.

I thought it was fishy when I checked this morning and they were exactly 100 votes ahead, but hey they have a base of paying customers. They could be just as easily be offering discounts to anyone who votes for them. But I'd like to believe that they're keeping things honest. It definitely seems like a project that is nice for businesses... (btw, they're now more than 100 votes ahead, so my earlier uneasiness was unfounded)
