How to get a svn "account"

How to get a svn "account"

Postby Tuxfan » 19 Jan 2013, 16:06

Hi.
I wanted to do try to get in touch with STK. Building it from source worked - thank you for simplifying the building process.
As a next step I tried to create a new branch,
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
svn cp https://supertuxkart.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/supertuxkart/main/trunk  https://supertuxkart.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/supertuxkart/main/branches/papercuts -m "Creating a new svn branch to try out some tweaks."

but failed when I was asked for a username and passwort.
I tried to login with my SourceForge account, but it didn't work.

Could you please help?

Yes we need to authorize you before you can branch it or commit (this is svn, not git!). We generally have no problem giving people access to a branch, but we might just want to know what you would like to work on

At first: Don't expect too much. Then you won't get disappointed.
For some weeks I carried the idea that I would like to get involved in the STK project - as far as implementing a small feature and leaving the project again.
Until recently I was thinking of creating the 3 strikes battle AI. That was before the discussion about adding a new way to utilize the bubble gum item.
This seems to be a better project to start getting in touch with the STK project, since it seems easier to me.

Finally, don't expect too much - currently I do not have very much free time.

Well, I'll be cautiously optimistic. Good luck with it, and I'd definitely be interested if you post screenshots of your progress.

Hi,

we need your sourceforge ID in order to give you permission, and I ma happy to create a branch for you - you seem to know how to use SVN, which is a prerequisite ;)

That would definitely be easier - the battle AI is not trivial, it involves everything from the exporter to the code.

Cheers,
