I expect as time goes on the current story plot will get boring. So an idea. You change it every now and then when you have the time (say a new one in 0.9). For story ideas I have some. Maybe you could explain why bananas are on the track.
In times of old when Tux Kart barely started the monkeys gave a gift to the game. They gave bananas from which you could get speed, weapons and delight. But Nolok put a curse upon the monkeys so that the bananas only turned out rotten insides, bombs and parachutes. The rest of the Starters gathered together and decided to give a gift. Weapons and speed to all the tracks.
But the curse didn't stop there. Once Nolok had been beaten in the race to keep GNU he took his old curse and made use of it. Suzanne became a ware-monkey at night capturing karts, steeling presents and leaving rotten bananas. She had to be stopped but the only way is to break the curse. Tux travels far and finds that it can be broken by racing the two tracks at once. Amazonian Journey and Fort Magma -- and winning both.
So there's an idea for a plot.
