Valyria Tear

Postby Bertram » 09 Nov 2012, 12:37

Hi everyone,

My name is Yohann Ferreira aka Bertram in many places and I've been developping a fork of Allacrost (http://www.allacrost.org) for almost a year now.

You can have more info on this little single-player jRPG project here: http://valyriatear.blogspot.com

What is happening now is that the Valyria community is slowly growing and it seems I do need to start make things a bit organized. ;)

Hence, upon demand of Tyler Olsen, the leader of Allacrost himself, I am humbly requesting a sub-forum here to permit us to discuss different topics mostly needed for development, at least for the moment.
I decided to ask here since Charlie gently proposed this solution some time ago, and since it offers a nice neutral place to bring open source development on.

As Tyler said, Allacrost and VT are sister projects, but I preferred not mixing the two projects too much for each to keep their own identities, that's why I won't request a sub-forum in Allacrost own forums. I hope Tyler won't mind too much as he gently offered a nice help already.

Best regards,

Bertram

Hi and welcome!
Would you rather have a single subforum, like
viewforum.php?f=70
viewforum.php?f=48
or two subforums "General" and "Contributions" like
viewforum.php?f=16
?

Hi Iwan, :)

A single one seems more than enough to me. :)

Thanks a lot for taking care about it.

Bertram

Done!

Checklist of recommendations:
1. add a sidebar link to the forum on http://valyriatear.blogspot.com (by the way, the git repo/wiki links are broken at time of writing this post)
2. create a sticky about/welcome thread, something like viewtopic.php?f=63&t=80 , viewtopic.php?f=18&t=58 or viewtopic.php?f=51&t=1116 (basically, the very least is a link to your blog and to the git repo, because the link at the top (subforum description) is hard to find.
3. add a link to your blog in the readme

Hi Iwan,

Thanks a lot for creating all that.

I've fixed the two links, thanks for noticing :)
EDIT: Added link to forums also.

Ok, I shall handle that as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Yohann
