Kalado's karts

kalado {l Wrote}:I thought I could keep the same thread as it isn't that long and as the kart will be soon finished.

or you could edit OP title to say "kalado's karts" or something similar ;)

P.S. sort of off topic, but I continued your work from here: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1075 in here: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2782 and was wondering what you thought and if there was anything you did that I didn't include in my newer versions (like stuff you never uploaded)

Yes you're right I changed the name.
Regarding the sandtrack, except the crocodile, everything seems to be there but maybe I could help you with some new models of statues, I read their was a proposition to add more statues to block the karts that don't follow the road. We'll continue this conversation on your thread.

Hmm, how about a dark green or eucalyptus green, going with the panda theme?

Indeed I was thinking about red but there are already many red karts.

Good idea, I gave it a try and it looks good, here is a screenshot:

I think the white color is the best so far. Black would seem a good match for this old-timer too.
I also like the orange/brown.

Green for cars seems exclusive to military vehicle camouflage. A car clearly is distanced from eucalyptus.

Perhaps a metal eucalyptus leaf hood ornament.

EDIT: On the other hand, it's a fun racing car in a colorful game. In that case some more paint (a while sprayed eucalyptus leaf shape on both sides?) might add to it.

I think the colour is the harder step in the making of this kart, I tried to add some green eucalyptus leaves but it didn't look that good, then I made a mix between blue and green, here is a what I got:
capture.png

I looks quite good to my mind, comments are welcome.

You're right, I will fix it in the next version.

For the color, I'll still try an orange and red carpaint, and then I will choose a color.

Yes, I think I'll keep this one. Anyway I tried the British racing green and a mix of orange and red:

With green, I'm worried that the kart will be hard to see with grass/trees behind it, giving it an unintended camouflage advantage.

Without having tested in a level, I prefer the british racing green one.

I think your fears are not very likely to come true. I think it would be pretty hard to not see a moving kart in any case. Maybe a little harder in CaveX, but probably not too bad.

That kart design... ugh. Looks all fat and bloated IMO but whatever floats your boat man, your design.

Hm.. an anti-joke regarding windowmaker (or is it?) :)

I'd say oh well, "these kind of old timers look like that" .
I guess I agree that it doesn't look sporty at all (as does the Android tank for example). Super Mario Wii has some strange retro designs but all look pretty sporty for example. http://www.mariowiki.com/File:Daytripper-DiddyKong.png http://www.mariowiki.com/File:ClassicDragster-Mario.png
I'm sure there are players who will love the design though.

For sure, it isn't a sporty car, and I didn't really think about this when I chose the car. For my next kart, I'll take your remark into account. But I don't think the fat aspect of the car is so bad, I'll keep it like this.
Now that I've got a color and that I've fixed the animation, here's a last testing version before I send it on stkaddons.

Looks good, need to download the kart. I think it would look more badass with (at least two times) wider fenders.

I appreciate your help, it's a really good icon, a way better one then mine, I've never been very good at drawing. Could you send me the icon file so that I can include it in the addon? Thanks a lot for your help.

I attached to this message a new version of the kart with a wider front, tell it to me if you think it needs to be even wider.
