Tarnished
A team oriented map, but it can also be played on FFA. This is actually my first layout map for Red Eclipse. Enjoy!

Transience
Floating ruins-esque map. Pretty fun on deathmatch gamemodes, instagib especially. Still a work in progress, though i doubt i'll ever be able to get bot functionality with it.

Minerange
A "game" map I made a while ago. The goal is to throw mines onto the people on the conveyer belt before they get to the finish. You get to choose the fate of whoever makes it across the conveyer belts without dying >:D

Dutility Christmas
Just in time for the holidays... again!

Facade
A joke map me and a friend made a while ago.

Krusty Duel
A quick map I made solely for the "duel" mode. It takes place in the Krusty Krab on a floating island.
Updated with lights.

Bikini Bottom
Replica of Bikini Bottom from Spongebob. Done with the help of Kaistagon. Pretty fun to dick around on imo
note I updated this with lights that actually worked. The map looks really bright atm but I just think it makes it look more cartoony.
Also, I tried to add vcoastscale to the roads so that you could get around to other places quicker and easier, but every time I calclight it erases the vcoast. Does anyone know why its doing this?
Also, this map is really big. Thus, i have left the lights uncalced. If you want the lights to appear, type /calclight

I Wanna Be The Eclipse
This has got to be the most fun I have ever had creating a map. Welcome to I Wanna be the Eclipse (IWBTE.) This is currently the hardest Time Trial map in Red Eclipse. The goal is to make it past all the arcade games, and defeat Mike Tyson at the end of the map. Good luck!

I tried your map Tarnished and I like it. I think the computer screens are a bit overwhelming (too many things going on there) and it's a bit tricky for beginning players to get from the lowest floor to the higher level requiring the double jump. Also, except from the 4 stairs in the corners maybe some jumppads on the metal rosters could be placed to get to the highest level.

But well done, I like this map best so far.

You've...

*sunglasses*

eclipsed your previous maps' quality and design! (YEAAAAHHH)

Excellent work; I agree with Ulukai's points. Were you inspired by Lava Arena in Tribes: Ascend?

I forgot about 1 more thought on Tarnished: please add waypoints for the bots. Testing a map happend offline, and if the bots are just standing still untill you get close this kills the fun of testing a map.

Fixed waypoints, lights, and some obvious embarrassing texture errors (although there could be more!)

And no, I can't say I've ever played Tribes. That looks like a cool map though.

I just downloaded the map from the link in your first post, but there is no WPT file in the ZIP. Please check.

Your map is votable on my server now. It is called "tarnished", so place your map in the map directory with this exact name (please avoid capitals in the map files) and then vote for it on my server if you want to try it out online.

Facade

Yeah. We did it.
Me and my friend Manofpac worked on this for some reason.. hope you guys played Facade before. Also, whatever you do, don't press the secret switch by the refrigerator.

Notes
*Goku showed me a way to fix the lights on Bikini Bottom a while back, but I've been too lazy to go back and fix them. I'll update it... laaterrrr...
*New playable map on the way. I probably won't get it done by the next release, but if I make the map good enough, I'm planning to submit it to the next release.

Minerange

A fun map I made a while ago. The goal is to throw mines onto the people on the conveyer belt before they get to the finish.
I've also made a way to cause a death by a trigger. In the map, if you press the kill switch by the winner box, anyone inside the box will die. The way to make these are simple: Just make an invisible door on its side, place deathclip below it, and then hook it up to a trigger. Hope this helps with some ideas for maps!

I think you should fix up "Tarnished" as a dedicated release-quality map.

Yeah, I always liked that map. Maybe some shiny new textures and geometry optimization would make it even better!
I believe Greaserpirate added nice fire particles in lava once for a Nova update that got cancelled but the map should still float around on the forum somewhere, I bet this map would look great from those as well.

Alright, heres what I have so far. Im only posting this now because I won't be able to work on this map much at all this week. Suggestions would be much appreciated!

I'll make a to-do list later, but a lot of what you see in the map is unfinished either in formation or texturing.

Whew, i gave IWBTE another try and finally learned that it is still possible to finish a lap there. The lack of checkpoints in the Mike Tyson room is a major annoyance, but at least there is a nice shortcut and no need to hit all four gun triggers. What about a respawn checkpoint at each gun and noclip on all "girl sprites" there?

This map is now included in SVN, although I was only able to put it into the deathmatch rotation due to the lack of affinities.

My two main complaints on Tarnished:
1. One of the "pushers" on the top platform has it's texture scrolling the wrong way
2. How is a blade which is on fire NOT lethal? It just feels completely wrong.

Besides that, I guess this map could have decent gameplay.
Hats, Afros, wings and raptor feet. This game is showing progress indeed.

Oops. Is it too late to fix that? If not, what affinities need to be added?

1.double oops, i'll fix that.
2. You don't actually go through the blade as it pushes you upwards before you get near it. I have it non-lethal because I felt that the ladders in the first version were road-bumps, but mostly I have it because it looks cool.

It's not too late to fix it. It can still be put in SVN when you upload a new version.
Try team affinities for omega and alpha as they will serve for Gauntlet, CTF and BB. Place some more DTF affinities on other locations and a BB neutral affinity for the bomberball.
This is the basics, experiment a little and see what suits your map best.

A couple problems on Tarnished, in addition to the reverse-scrolling launcher already mentioned...

The "pushers" at the burning fan blades don't work on SVN. This is probably related to Trac ticket #612.

It's possible to go out of bounds and end up in a couple weird places, including this 2x1 room near the bottom of the level where half the floor is covered in lava. Just make sure you land in the "safe" half, and you basically have a perfect hiding spot. No idea why that piece of geometry was even put there.

I think this map needs a couple of small updates before 1.5 will be released...
- Fans on fire: fire is supposed to kill you imo, it's a strange combination to use as a pusher. Besides, the minrad distance makes them not work in SVN. Pushers should be fixed.
- Texture scrolling in wrong direction on the upper pushers.
- Lava texture looks repetitive, maybe the lava2 texture would fit better here when scaled correctly.
- Placing affinities shouldn't be too hard.

Besides that, a cool and fun map!

If Boognish can't find the time to fix the issues, I can do it if that would be desirable.

Keep in mind that pusher issues that arose from the bugfix in SVN are my responsibility, not the map author's. I've gotten as far as to do map letters A through C, but there are other things I have to review too so it is a long and tedious process.

Finally got around to updating Tarnished and some other things. I added bomberball functionality for tarnished as well. I don't think that tarnished would be a good CTF map so i'll just leave it at that.

Hopefully this will be the final release of tarnished.

It's better polished now and I like the addition of BB. But the pushers where the fire was didn't seem to work for me. Anyone else having troubles with them?
Because there is this huge amount of lava on the bottom, I think it would look better with the lava2 texture. The current one gets repetitive fast when used on large areas imo.
