I leave Supertuxkart project

Postby STKRudy85 » 04 Jun 2012, 10:45

Hi all,

I take the decision to quit our team.
Reason is I 'm tired.

Since I start working on STK I have to challenge 3 problems which are

Clearing licence (the worst)
Irrlicht
Blender 2.5

I spend lot of time adapting tracks, upgrading works, finding for people to perpetuate their work. Releasing it under their license on stkaddons.
It bored me.

If I didn't do this, no matter let it losing in the deep of the forum ( without speaking about the loss of contributions due to the fall of the ancient forum )
STK is a racehorse with eye-baths.

A recent example: why Mystic Island by David Herrera isn't on stkaddons ?

I often disagree with the playability and the artistic direction which borrows the game (About details)

I'm tired and It been a long time that the fun goes away.

I would remember that I was welcomed with sympathy on the forum.
I wanted to thank Canis Lupus for helping me to make my first track.
I salute Arthur for his enthusiasm.
I thank Xeno for linux package making.

It was interesting to live this experience

Goodbye Auria, Hiker, Asciimonster, Samuncle, Funto, Xapantu, Kinsu, Qubodup, Stephen, Charlie, and others ...

That's a pity to hear that but I can easily imagine this feeling when you're tired and don't want to do anything. It's ok and nobody will blame you as it is natural. Also I won't judge about stk's problems because it's not the thing I can change or influence on.

As for me, I can just wish you to find another hobby :) Speaking about unfinished works, probably you can upload them somewhere so they won't disappear in case somebody will be eager to continue your work.

I'm sorry to hear this. But we do this for fun, and when it's no longer fun for you I think it might be wise to move on. Perhaps you'll want to return later, and if so you'll certainly be welcome back. So good luck with whatever you do, and thanks for all your work.
Hey pal, I took an oath for justice! "In happy days or tightest tights..." or something like that.

It too bad to see you go Rudy, you were a good blender artist. maybe you can come back when 1.2.0 rolls around and all the tracks have to get converted again :P.
As a last request before you go, could you maybe upload all your work finished, unfinished, and barely started? I would maybe like to continue some of you unfinished projects.
bye.
