Battle Stage: Lincity Towers

2nd File Release

Postby machrider14 » 05 Jan 2012, 01:31

Here's a 2nd pack of the SketchUp file of Lincity Towers. I added a new tower, added the helicopter thanks to cheesebrother, plus some changes to the textures on the bridges and the tower. Make sure to give me credit.

Postby machrider14 » 06 Jan 2012, 17:17

I created alot of city buildings over the past months. There will be more on the way to cover the battle arena. But it will be a good city.

Building Changes.

Postby machrider14 » 07 Mar 2012, 19:42

I forgot that the logos are trademarked, but I will be changing the names. I decided to do some company names than the open-source company names. For example, the Blender tower (yellow building) will probably be named the STK TV tower and the Audacity tower (blue building) will be an apartment. Maybe I will be changing the names even the surrounded towers. Try figuring out some names to put in the buildings and I will do them.

Renaming the towers

Postby machrider14 » 08 Mar 2012, 17:52

I have decided to rename the towers for the stage.

For the stage:

The Linux Building will be renamed to Tux Inc.
The Ubuntu Tower will be renamed to Iceblock Industries.
The Blender Tower will be renamed to STK TV
The GIMP Tower will be renamed to Cube Corp.
The Audacity Tower will be renamed to Lincity Apts.

I don't know what I can rename the surrounded buildings. Stay tuned.

If you need any help with the blender part of it, I can do it/try. :)
Some people are like slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't help smiling when you shove them down the stairs.

well IDK how to export it into a obj. or other file.
It's just Google SketchUp, you can download it.

it doesn't work on my computer.
can you export it from sketch-up into some other format at all? it would probably be under file>>export>>whatever format. in the toolbar(but I don't know that for sure)

In the free version of sketchup, you can't export to anything other than skp and kmz

That's Google SketchUp 0.8. The non-free version is Google SketchUp Pro 0.8.

Removal of the trademarked logos

Postby machrider14 » 10 Apr 2012, 16:01

I removed the trademarked logos from the stage model and I made the file into a obj. file. I don't know if it can work for this stage, this will take a while.

Lincity Towers continues

Postby machrider14 » 14 May 2012, 16:54

I have decided to resume working on the city stage, I just need to add more office buildings throughout the city until it's ready to be rendered.

The Green and Blue sides aren't finished yet and there are some designs to be edited.

The towers are now covered in white due to the graphic problem on sketchup until it's exported to Blender. I'm making sure the stage is fully white surrounding the areas until it will be textured. I just need some time to add more buildings throughout the city.

Added more towers.

Postby machrider14 » 23 May 2012, 15:00

My junior year in school is almost over for me, but the good thing is I made 7 new buildings for the stage. Although I have to continue with the stage until it's converted. I only made 7 of the towers so check them out. Please note that these towers are uncolored.
