Old Rome track

Re: Old Rome track

here is the track so far. the texturing is a bit bad and I need some models for the market, the old building isn't done, and the arena is bad. please let me know what you think.
Enjoy!

A quick music update. I've finished the music programming and the attached the result. Please note it's in midi now, so it sounds horrible. From here on out it's a making it sound better en finalizing it.

WHOOPS! i just realized my computer is on mute. the music sounds great! but the song doesn't loop well if it has to start over. I am not sure if that is an issue though. Thanks!

That's not a problem. I just need to remove the repeat of the theme at the end...

Here's an idea: what if you had a kart or two as scenery? Then you could line one up with hitch on the ground so that it's a jump. Maybe a reward of a big bottle of nitros at the top to pay for going a little out of the way.

I was thinking something like this. Although you can't really drive up the hitch unless it was made much wider so maybe it isn't such as good idea.

yea I have thought of something like that. It is a good idea. Also I still need to model a bunch of carts and stuff for the market

Since I created the score in Musescore, I thought I'd stay in the spirit and release it under the creative commons license.

P.S. The music plays much too softly in-game. When I have time I'll see what I can do.

It would be really cool if after the first lap, some of the buildings deteriorate/colapse/etc. Wouldn't have to be after the first lap, but could even be caused by a trigger (driving over a certain path, an explosion of any kind occuring at a certain point), the destruction of the buildings/temples could create a shortcut. I really wish the game would support this.

The Old Rome track is a brilliant idea, looking forward to playing it!

Hi ctdabomb...

I just tried it out...took three tries to get 1st place. I think this track has a lot of potential. I would encourage you to continue refining and improving it. :)

One suggestion would be to please change the music! The piece itself is ok, just the midi synthesized version of it just doesn't match what a real orchestra could do. Is there any way to make that possible?

:s i don't know, I could make it better, But I did have the best technique when I made this and to improve it more, I would have to basically start over.......

Hi...

I just meant replace the entire midi piece with an orchestral version, if at all possible. :|
