Shit that was cool when I was a kid

Shit that was cool when I was a kid

If there's a picture of you somewhere in a flannel shirt giving your best Kurt Cobain impression (aka if you were a teenager in the 90's), you might appreciate this. Tangentially related, I have a great memory of taking a piss in a bathroom in Vermont when I was 15 where someone had scrawled "driving to seattle in an ice cream truck" on the paper towel dispenser.

Heh, you must be around the same age as me then, I'm 28 this year (and as my partner keeps reminding me "you're almost 30", starts to seem quite old haha).

I have no place here (cause I haven't even reached my 20s yet) but I just wanted to say I downloaded this song by accident and I think its still a pretty damn good song :)

Shit man, I'm 17 and I've listened to most of this music. All this hip hop and rap garbage that pollutes the airwaves disgusts me. A few of those bands I haven't listened to, or I probably have and don't even know it. I can remember listening to a lot of 90's and even 80's stuff growing up, either on the radio, or from my parents playing it off CDs. Good stuff, man. Great thread. This is real music.

Ahhhh, the 90's... Era of great games (chrono trigger :D), great cartoons, and the last of the good consoles...

God damn, I am only 21 and when I see the crap that is on tv these days... arg, I feel old too -_-

And there is NOTHING that can compete with riding your bike to the arcade with a pocket full of quarters you saved up.
We had some weird orange console pong-knockoff game that hooked up to the TV, and then of course we got the king of all games, the Atari 2600.

Um.. yeah. I'm old.

We had a 2600 in my Aunt's basement when I was a kid (a little dated at that point). I spent more hours playing Pitfall than could have possibly been healthy

David Crane {l Wrote}:I sat down with a blank sheet of paper and drew a stick figure in the center. I said, “Okay, I have a little running man and let's put him on a path [two more lines drawn on the paper]. Where is the path? Let's put it in a jungle [draw some trees]. Why is he running [draw treasures to collect, enemies to avoid, etc.]?” And Pitfall! was born. This entire process took about ten minutes.
