Red Eclipse on Youtube..or any other Vid site

Postby inpersona64 » 10 Oct 2011, 15:03

We have our normal randoms that flow in and out of the servers, we have our mappers of the community, we have the hardcore players that have their own little ideas for the game, but we also have the gamers who like to post the stuff they do on Youtube. I can say, for example, that I fall under the last category.

With this said, I opened this topic as a general area for people to post some gameplays they have uploaded. Because I get tired of watching the same old stuff on youtube all the time. A couple COD commentaries, some first impression gameplays, etc. I wanna see who of our community posts RE videos other than I (usually I have a link in my sig for anything new).

If you guys don't know how to record, Red Eclipse has an in-game recorder which someone can give you instructions on how to use. I use Fraps, which is a pretty damn good program if I may say so myself. I've also made use of Playclaw (which stopped working on my CPU a while back..sadface).

For those of you that do record and upload, post links here. I wanna see some cool s*** you know? Things like montages, full-length gameplays, possibly even game commentaries, and not to mention, clan matches :) Posting a video is a great way to show off and show the rest of us how good you are. Maybe just show us a video of you beasting it up in a public match on noobs lol

*On a side note, if anyone needs assistance making a montage, let me know, I've made plenty of montages and I can give some feedback as to how to begin one and what you might need. But you can always watch a montage video to get some inspiration.*

I've got some HD flythroughs of community maps and other nice things on my channel... http://www.youtube.com/forsahen

I think I still have a recording of an FD vs. Wazu clan match, which I'll upload soon. Otherwise, I just put videos out when I have the time or when I think a new map is cool enough, etc.

I'm really pissed off on how i really can't beat it lol. I mean that pillars part. Takes some real skillful parkour. I tried on both casual and the extreme one, and I just kept getting stuck at that part lol

the simplest way is to stay to the right. wall run on the far right wall, jump to wall run on the wall intersecting it, and one jump to a pillar around the corner should do it. or try my route in the video.

in the casual there are two middle sections you can land on. one on the far right and one is around a pillar on the far left. ill add fixed versions to mediafire soon that give your hints on paths you can take.

the causal version anyone can do, just find the middle pillar in the room ur stuck in. The advanced as you say takes very skillful parkour and lots of trial and error. Its meant to be a significant challenge so there is lots of room for perfection on speed runs.

I beat the casual version. As for advanced I've tried the tactic you suggested, but it killed me about 30 times in a row, so maybe I'm missing something. Closest I could be to getting across, however. It's interesting how your map is less time-trial, and more about timing and reflexes. I'm not sure which I like better, but the time limit has run out a couple times halfway through the course.

yeh, i dont play with the default time limit on the advanced. i usually set it really high just so i can play till i get tired of it. u can type /timelimit #

its about reflexes but once you master the course the time trial aspect becomes the fun part. The top speed on casual is 1:34 and on advanced is 7:43. the timer doesn't mean much till you master each jump.

Just as a note, WazuClan has their clan Youtube page up and running now. Here's a link:
http://www.youtube.com/user/WazuClan

We already have our first two videos up. Just beast gameplay videos. Nothing special. We'll strive to try to get clan only games up. Clan only games means either only the clan is playing in the server, or the clan is playing against others on one team, e.g Wazu vs All match lol

Also, it would be helpful if people would collaborate on this, seeing as it is very fun and it helps us better find recruits for the clan. Just switch to the opposite team when Wazu members wants to play against the server. But, I'm merely just asking. Don't mind me :P

It's actually not the same photo. They are somewhat identical, but they aren't the same.
