Waste which make:
to slide,
to slow down,
Toxic ( Which makes some smokes) and which prevents from seeing

Bubblegum + Suction cup : More powerful + The Karts slide and we lose control

I don't like the idea of using garbage/waste. I think 1) it'll be a pain to implement in a way that looks nice 2) throwing litter is a bad message to send out. I know that the litter has a negative effect, but there's the underlying message, "use litter to cause people problems!" It is not a good social message, and it is not in keeping with the cartoon and fun nature of the game.

Throwing bowling balls and cakes at people is somehow better? :p

I fully agree with #1 anyway, and generally having multiple effects from just one cause might cause confusion for players.

Throwing bowling balls and cakes is in keeping with the cartoon nature of the game. (Although personally I'd prefer a different item to the bowling ball, although I haven't thought of a better idea yet.)

OK, I agree but we could see to it to speak about the subject of the ecology, the environment?
It shows the number of waste which we throw a year, billions and billions...

We could create an item against the waste then?
(While keeping a side amusing in the game)

Could work as the backwards plunger replacement to freshen up the game (something new). It would send the message that garbage is dangerous not just to wildlife but drivers as well. :p

I also don't like the idea of trash and don't think it is cartoony, but I would like another weapon like bubble gum. I like the classic oil slick weapon to make carts slide, or maybe leaving a wrench or spare tire behind to give wonky steering.

Just agreeing with others that it would be difficult to make trash seem light hearted and I also don't like the idea of throwing trash as a weapon in a kid's game. The only anti-trash and kid themed idea I can think of is Wall-E, but even the writers of that movie with a message changed their title from "Trash Planet". I think trash as a weapon would work better in a mature rated post-apocalyptic shooting game without any anti-trash message, and not STK. I don't mean to seem harsh and hope more weapon ideas come.

Maybe having a positive message and not throwing trash as a weapon would be better.
Something like having the leading kart drop tires nearby that fade away, but picking them up in time adds nitro. It would work like slipstream, but last much longer and wouldn't work for karts right behind the leader.
