STK not working on fresh upgrade of Natty 11.04

I upgraded to natty last night... ppa:littel-jo/stk-0.7.1 was in my sources as suggested in the "stuck on zippers" thread.
I installed the updates to STK that were available and the game won't start. When I run it from command line I get this error:
supertuxkart: error while loading shared libraries: libIrrlicht.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I don't know why your system can't find the irrlicht library (I think it is included in STK ?) but if you add download it to your system lib folder it should be OK.

Or maybe just add STK's folder to the libpath env variable ?

I thought it might be an issue with whatever was updated for Natty. STK worked after the upgrade, but it quit working after I installed the available update to it.

Let me ask this: what is the best way to keep up to date on STK on a *buntu based system?

I'm using supertuxkart on ubuntu 11.04 and I downloaded it from sourceforge and it's working well, make you could try this.

So you just did a download and install? What are your plans for keeping it up to date? Because I've found that there's lots of cool new development going on that I want to keep up to date.

If you want to use the latest SVN, the best way is definitely building from source ( http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/Build_STK_on_Linux )

i fixed this bug today but the servers of canonical are too busy.

a workaround :

sudo apt-get install libirrlicht1.8

I was able to get the SVN version compiled, so I guess I'll just do an update and recompile every so often to stay up to date.
