Not that I know of, sorry.

But you can visit the pages you need most and use menu File > Save As

I am willing to crawl the wiki and create a download for it. I'll see about doing it once I get home. Some things might break, but hopefully all the information will be there.
Gives me an excuse to finally try out Httrack =P

I realized that about a minute after I posted >.<
And wait, as a developer, can't you just make a zip copy of the site?

Even if we can (I admit I have no idea) we won't - if we do this then we have to maintain and update it. So sorry for that, but we are short enough on developers and available time, and this is an area where other people (like you ;) ) can easily help out - so thanks a lot!

If you need some special permission to make this easier for you, just let us know.

Cheers,

That would be great! And as I've said, if you know about an option in media wiki that would do this automatically, let us know, and we give you the right to do that :)

Thanks!

It looks like the Wiki is a MediaWiki. I don't know of any automatic exporter, but it should be no problem to create one. In that case, especially the special page http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/Special:Export may come in handy for you, Teh Matt.

Crend

EDIT:
Yeah, there are exporters. Have a look here: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Alternative_parsers

No, we can't just zip it, the reason being that mediawiki uses a database, in this case MySQL. So even if we zipped it, you would need to run a local copy of MySQL to get access to the pages.

So the best approach is probably by using a crawler. Maybe one the wikipedia downloaders ( http://www.aboutonlinetips.com/download ... ne-access/ ) could be used

I've hit it with httrack, wget, and curl, I just haven't figured out the best way to detect changes and repackage the site when they occur.
I'm taking a look at the other crawlers right now, thanks Crend and Auria.

No, this is a database backup, it does not produce a backup in a format anyone can easily read
