Klingon Honor Guard clone?

Klingon Honor Guard clone?

I miss playing Klingon Honor Guard, does anyone know of an open-source game like it? It's basically a FPS, Star-Trek themed, with lots of weapons, things to fight, and missions, as well as singular graphics.

I just wish someone would make a single player free software shooter using any one of the vintage Quake engines (similar to the Unreal engine, as used here). We have enough arena shooters.

I would not even care if it was just using OpenArena assets or something, just have actual single-player levels and a good level editor for people to make more.

At least for sprite based shooters there is FreeDoom... we need more stuff like that.

Yeah, Freedoom has some pretty good campaigns, mainly riding on the legacy of Doom WADs. There is also Sauerbraten, which has its own modding/mapping community, though the vast majority of those are MP. The SP campaigns it comes with are serviceable.

The lack of equivalent stuff for Quake does bother me somewhat. Darkplaces is awesome and readily available in most distros. GPLv2 with several commercial titles shipped, compatibility with lots of maps, it's great. Trenchbroom is also pretty good from what I hear, and now with Snap it can be installed easily. What's missing is a decent asset pack. There is no FreeQuake.

Well, besides, the free software arena shooter was already perfected with iMaze...

If only the Ninjas would just stop getting stuck on walls...

Also, TrenchBroom does look pretty cool. And I did have some good fun playing the original Cube again a couple years back.

Should also probably mention, in response to the original post, that the closest thing you could probably get to a free software KHG is playing the Klingon maps with the Klingon bots in ioquake3. Even if you have to use the non-free commercial Elite Force assets (obviously).

This seems to be the most modern version of the port.

Oh wait, there also seems to be this.

Older stable build linked by ioquake3 themselves.

EDIT: Apparently, the Holomatch files are now even available as freeware.
