My Art Contributions

I also think the one in the icyisland is good looking, although I do think there should be a new/different sprite for the spikies in the forest, or just replace them with Igels.

Igels are really ugly and have sort of annoying behaviour. They need work.

Got around to making a new climbing animation for big Tux. Small Tux's version will come soon-ish.

I've updated the patch. I removed every "new" forest enemy sprite because I didn't think they were good enough, and made Fire and Ice Tux use compiled sprites so they're compatible. https://www.dropbox.com/s/sq7ue9sz1dsu0 ... d.rar?dl=0

While this looks pretty good, I feel Nolok's legs are too high and my design changes that, so I took a stab at making my own.

As a furry and somewhat of an art creator, the legs were fine, y'know... actually i would personally decide to stay with that specific sprite (but colored and etc.)

Great work!

Doesn't really matter anymore. I've come to realize that with every art annoyance I try to fix, I find ten more. The game's art is really messy and I don't have the time, motivation or skill to redo the entirety of SuperTux's graphics. The unpolished, stiff graphics aren't even the main problem, rather a symptom of the core issue with this game. It's a mess that's been handed down like a baton between multiple development teams and as such the game feels really inconsistent. I don't even know if anyone legitimately wants to work on this game anymore without it stemming from a sense of obligation to repay this dying carcass.

@Altzer: You've done so great work. Dont't overdo yourself, and maybe make an slowly start, e.g. only rework Tux-Sprites or so, because every little improvement at this stage is an huge step forward in my opinion.

World map big Tux walking forward. More worldmap Tux to come, maybe.
Planning on re-doing more Tux animations, adding more appeal and expressiveness to Tux. In the mean time I edited over Tux's designs to make them more consistent.

Thanks! I made him do more than just face the side, and also gave him a bit of squash and stretch to make it more appealing to look at.
You can try out the animation here https://www.dropbox.com/s/sq7ue9sz1dsu04c/SuperTux%20Improved.rar?dl=0 but it only works with Big Tux atm.

Updated walk. Tux's legs are supposed to start at the middle of his belly, so I updated them accordingly, as well as the feet placement.

Small Tux walking. Maybe if I upscaled frame 5, we could use it as a new icon?

Speaking of new icon, if we were to make a new one would this work?

Looking good :)

I noticed that the left foot is shown from the side a bit when it moves forward, but not the right foot. Maybe that could be angled a bit too?
