Problem with shortcut

Problem with shortcut

Postby Bodsda » 06 Dec 2010, 18:56

Hi,

I found a slight problem with a shortcut on a grass level - sorry I don't know the name of the level, it is the 4th track in the first grand prix, it is a dirt track with grassy verges. Well, about half way round there is a shortcut/fork in the track behind some wooden poles, the road starts off being covered in bananas and then calms down. Anyway, on this road, just after the hill I went ever so slightly off the dirt track and an 'invalid shortcut' fairy cam up and plopped me back at the fork! This lost me about 35 seconds and seems overly punishing for just an inch off the track. Perhaps there should be track barriers here?

Would this class as a bug?

Thanks,
Bodsda

First of all the track you mean is Amazonian Journey. The rest you should leave to Auria.

I can't seem to reproduce your bug. Replaying what you did I just cannot trigger an invalid shortcut.
May I ask what version of STK you are running? (If you compiled it yourself - which revision?)

Bodsda, I think you're using STK 0.6, right? STK 0.7 has the shortcut detection system completely redone so this should no more be an issue

Your right. I just built 0.7rc1 and that doesn't have the bug. I guess theres no problems then :)
