Introduce yourself

I'm Dallas. I am a huge Game Gear fan. I used to use Ubuntu as my main OS, so I downloaded lots of the games listed on this site. My favorites are Super Tux Kart and OpenArena. I currently play the games on this site on Windows XP/7. I hope to develop my own game soon by getting a team of developers together to create it, as my html skills won't help me create a game (really, I have no coding knowledge other than html.)

P.S. Thank you to everyone who codes the free linux games. You're too awesome!

I am Hathor and I am me.

I'm a musician and aspiring indie game developer.

I'm doing various cross-platform open-source development stuff; my github is here:
https://github.com/SoundGoddess

My personal website is here:
http://HathorsLove.com/

I was focusing purely on music for a few years but now I'm really getting back into development. I love programming, I just wanted to hone my music skills first before getting back into it.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Linux and hope to move back to it someday. That is why I will always issue Linux builds of my games.

My project is still pretty fledgling but I'm working on making a bunch of tools to make it easy to create custom game engines with MonoGame:
http://ruge.metasmug.com/

Anyway, enough about me, how are you? Feel free to say hi on IRC; I'm usually hanging around on freenode under hathor008 or waterwraith.

I guess I should present myself, too, since I am contributing to a 2nd project which have it's forum here.

I am a C++ programmer who likes refactoring: cleaning warnings of the most paranoiac compiler I can afford, removing code duplication, unifying space/tab style, removing zombie code, and other things normal coders tend to think boring. But, I'm not fond of documenting code, either (since for me, a documented code is a code simple enough to be understood by a no-coder, and I know it's possible, I achieved it once)

And I guess I should say I'm a nomadic contributor (sorry, valyrya team, should have warned before), which means that I contribute for a small time to some project, and just move to another one and forgot the previous one. If it happens to you, it's not your fault, it's just me, and it does not mean I'll never contribute anew someday.

Currently, my only motivation to contribute is to have fun playing free (must admit, both in term of free beer and of free speech) games, and when they have bugs I think I can fix, or feature I can implement relatively quickly, just do that, since it's the only way I can really pay and thanks authors.

HI folks,

Chuck here, from Pennsylvania, USA. My kids have been enjoying SuperTux for probably a year now, and are quite into making their own levels. As they are still little (my oldest is not yet 8 years old), we have not conquered scripting etc. yet, though we're getting to it (I am a software developer myself, so it is just a matter of time to get to looking at Squirrel etc.)

My daughter has drawn up an idea for a new BadGuy, and has asked me to post it somewhere (I showed her the old wiki page http://supertux.lethargik.org/wiki/Proposed_Badguys which was undoubtedly part of her inspiration!)

So I'm writing to ask where the current appropriate place would be to make such a suggestion. I can scan her hand drawing no problem, but I'm not sure where to "submit" it.

Thanks in advance,
Chuck

Hi and welcome! I think the "SuperTux > ST General" subforum would be the right place for that: viewforum.php?f=67
Just start a new topic there to say hi to the SuperTux team (not sure if they all read this thread in the General forum) and post your daughter's badguy proposal :)

Hello
I come to this forum to make game bug findings and may be proposing improvements.
Example :
Quand j'appuye sur Z pour avancer dans la course. Un mesage d'erreur apparait :
call stack : <no symbol available>

and therefore impossible to play supertux karts 1.9.2

Hi there !
Just wanted to introduce ourselves to your community and talk about our last project! I work at EISKO, a studio specialising in 3D scanning and reconstruction, and I just finished working on an awesome online service animators might be interested in! It's called blendshapes on Demand and it gives a complete set of blendshapes to any head model you upload, perfectly fitting your character morphology. And I was curious to see if it could help the community or not, independent artists or studio alike!

Here's a quick glimpse while I'm prepping a more technical post..

I am Arkhana, also known as Megameneer on some other forums. I like to play some games on Linux, which are in my opinion not the most fancy and sophisticated games in the world, but it's fun to get them running on my old rig with parts not newer than from 2005, which I use as my main work computer as well. Currently, I dual boot between an up-to-date Arch Linux installation for work, and an Arch Linux installation, with propretiary drivers (which have way better 3D performance) that require legacy software, for gaming. I mostly like racing games, because their controls and rules are straightforward, but I like some other games as well.

Hi
I'm a STK player and a Software Engineering student, I was playing this game a few years ago (when the last version was about 0.7) and really liked it.
At the last days, after the exams period finished I found a few minutes to play again STK, installed the new version and started playing, a few crashes brought me here, I'll post the crash details in a different post but in the meanwhile I came here to say hi :)

Hello, I am SBurckhardt. About a year ago I started learning about game development in my free time for a school project. In this time I learned many things: level design, coding, modelling, uv-mapping, ... and created my first game.

Hi there. I'm hoping to contribute 3D models to Open Dungeons and would like to be able to create new threads in the OD forum for that purpose. I have two years of experience with 3D modeling and sculpting, though coding comes more naturally to me than graphics.
