But I think you should not make lighting already baked in 2D as you did: instead, you should provide a texture + normal map, so that we would get the same result you have here but with lighting in real-time.
Best would be to try in-game I think, do you know Blender? I think the easiest way may be to make an UV-mapped cylinder and add it to a kart or to a track to see what it looks like in-game.
