Really? Ok but the texture of the old bowling ball looks nothing like a bowling ball :| . Then i don't know how to make it look more cartoon.
That is a pity.

Hi,

this icon looks cool, but we would need an actual 3D bowling ball with a similar look to go along it

+1
I think the current bowling ball is too dull. STK needs nice "happy" colors, IMHO.

I worked on some textures that hurt the eyes when playing.

-Artificial minigolf ground Image

-The two road file of "Snowmoutain" track were too much pixelized ( + now it looks more like road)

Don't hesitate to compare with the original one when playing :)

Hi, I'm sorry, I'm not really convinced by your astro turf texture, I think it looks a bit blurry.

Regarding the roadway texture, it's still very low-resolution. I think there is no need to work on a roadway texture however, because we already have several high-quality road textures; the snow track just needs to be re-done using our new better textures

Blurry and too low res. What's this 128x128 stuff. Go to a higher scale. 256x256 or 512x512 surely.

Also consider basing it on a real astroturf texture as well as adding a bump map.

" What's this 128x128 stuff" there is no texture with this scale
I agree about astro surf that was just a test, i did not change any scale, i tought there will be compatibility problem
But for the moment you should really change road texture i don't think the track will be redone right now

Sorry, that's me being thick... didn't click on the image. Just assumed the image [in your forum post] was displayed as-is. Even so, it looks like a low-res texture scaled up and blurred (hence tricked my eyes as a thumbnail).

Sorry, I'm still quite a bit unsure, they are very pixellated. Maybe in-game screenshots could help compare?

If in-game the texture filtering is linear, it would appear a bit more blurry, hence less pixellated, so indeed that's how we should compare :)

Pixellated ? O_o it has to look like very very short artificial grass so that will always appear like that
This is currently 512x512. Are 1024x1024 textures allowed ? I could make one like this

New -> Image

Hi,

the general consensus in the team seems to be that this texture could still be improved, but it's already an improvement over the previous one :) which is why I committed it to SVN

and yes, 1024x1024 is allowed

It surely badly needs a bump map (and to be 1024x1024). Doesn't STK do bump mapping?
