I have the artwork ready for a new Demo map. It is a Battletech / Mechwarrior / Gundam like modular Mech design. The 3D model is build in modular parts for equipment, weapon and body parts. The modules are exported as separate md5 files. This enables a individual Mech configuration as well as proper hit location system and the destruction of body parts.
The bone setup and animations allow a code controlled movement of the arm, weapon, upper body and torso to aim at the mouse position while having a unlinked walk diction(in the same way that Mechwarrior 3 functioned).
*4 weapon attach position right hand, left hand, torso right and left.
*full set of animations for movement and combat
*all body parts as separate md5 files that use the same animation files
*4 destruction / damage texture stages for all body parts
*6 diffident weapon types: rockets, machine-guns, rail-guns, plasma blasters and lasers
*10 different base skins and textures for custom looks
*60 Player character images (128x128 for chat massages)
*60 new environment textures for the Mech Game - Demo Map
*20 Map models for more complex scene object like bridges and trees.
*6 Tank models
*4 static gun tower models.
Game Play suggestions Action simulation game play:
*Movement with the keyboard and aiming as well as torso twisting with the mouse.
*Movement walking and different speed setting up to running (related to Mech configuration). Jumping with jump jets (limited use duration).
*Third person over shoulder camera or first person simulation cockpit view.
*Limited weapon ammunition in relation to the Mech configuration
*Radar screen showing enemy's and secondary and primary objectives
*HUD and GUI showing weapon status and damage monitor as well as a compass (similar to the swarm map GUI)
*Hit location with different hit-points and damage model to remove destroyed equipment and weapons.
*Arena PVP map and Mission cooperative map with AI controlled opponents (reuses swam map AI)
I have most of the artwork ready but since Alon's(kripken's) time is rather limited I would like to ask if some of you would like to help use with the implementation of this demo for the next official build.
Greetings
