Actually he posted it in Project Showcase but it appeared to be a commercial venture so was rejected until that is clarified.

EDIT: the post was the same as this one.

Hi, I'm Thomas, and some of you might know me from OGA. I'm a long-time freegamedev lurker who has just now found the time to register here. My machines run Archlinux, and I've got a passion for GNU/Linux and FOSS in general. I currently study CS at the Augsburg University in Germany.

Postby AeroDynasty_Nix » 15 Apr 2013, 21:53

My name is Nicholas Manuel, I am the Visionary of a new game concept using a modified version of the Super Tux Kart engine. The game is called AeroDynasty, and it's meant to be PC clone of the WipEout futuristic racing game series mainly for Sony game platforms.

Quite simply put, Wipeout is one of those racing games that simulate Anti-Gravity physics, the kind that you need to get the hang of to ensure a victorious race. It includes pitch control, air-brakes, opposite braking/side-shifting, barrel rolling, and effective use of weaponry and power-ups.

I'm from the great American state of Mississippi, birthplace of Jim Henson, the Muppet Grand-Master. I want to make a version of AeroDynasty with the STK engine, modify it to include anti-gravity physics, and control. I will make some ships to pilot, and tracks that dip, bank and even test your piloting prowess, with multiple paths, quick destabilizing corners, sharp blind corners, and undulating straight sections.

I'm doing this as a quick project, I cannot guarantee a successful project. In addition, this is one project I will test for myself, you can only watch as I progress in production, with AeroDynasty Dev Journals on YT.

Do I have to use the Source, or can I add the physics in a script with the Binary?

Hi and thanks for the detailed introduction! Please start a thread on one of the subforums of viewforum.php?f=66 .

Note that since STK is GPL-licensed, you will need to provide source code modifications as soon as you release the game. I'm sure the community will be able to help you do this quick and legally clear. :)

PS: always write down where you get which art asset files to be able to create a proper credits list at the end. Especially with sounds, it's easy to forget this.

I have worked on several open source projects and am currently one of the project administrators for BZFlag.

Hello opensourcers, I just registered on the forum. Mostly because I'm planning to join GSoC 2013 and the SuperTuxKart project.

My name is Gazsi Ádám, 2nd year student at the Babes-Bolyai University in Romania, Cluj-Napoca learning Computer Science in English.
I like OOP languages, but c++ is what I call a real programing language. No JVM or .Net extensions needed to run an application.
As hobby, I like to make 3d models, at an amatour level.

Hi. I'm MirceaKitsune, also known as Taoki. I'm an open-source lover and occasionally developer for some years, most interested in games sims and virtual spaces. I've been planning to register here for some time, but sadly didn't get around to it yet. The projects I'm most involved with are Xonotic (previously known as Nexuiz, I'm also a developer), Glest (now developed mostly as MegaGlest), MineTest (developer there too), OHRRPGCE, Hedgewars, and recently been getting into StuntRally too. Glad this forum exists... hopefully open-source games will get even better in time and prove that commercial projects aren't the only ones that can be great :)

Hello everyone!

I'm "four04". Not sure how I got that name, but I'm sticking with it. I've played Red Eclipse for quite a while now off and on, and I want to get more serious about it by becoming a contributor. Frankly, I've never used SVN before and I'd appreciate it if the codebase was transferred to Git, but I'm sure I can teach myself eventually. Anyways, I hope to see you soon in-game or on the forums! :)
