I just re-write what I have suggested in the dev-blog:

It's good to see the work is going into the right direction..I'll test it on Linux..

about the new icons..I love them, they give a fresh look to the game (without the old ones next to them)..but without a frame the menu will look quite empty; so I've made a quick mockup about it, (it's just a pixel-artist work to give an idea of what I'm talking about)..some neutrals, alpha-channeled frames:

I attach the comparison between the original menu, the first mockup and the updated second mockup;
I attach, also, the *.png's used to obtain the effect: you have to give 40% alpha-channel to frame_unselected, 40% to frame_selected, 20% to back_unselected, 25% to back_selected.

Hi Francesco,

in general we will need more skin work; a frame alone can be nice (even though I not convinced it is necessary), but we need more skin work in general IMO
