Although we are discussion factions vs. alignment we can still expand the current story-logic of the current faction system.
So I was wondering if we should keep the portals of DK or we should try something else? As it is now we the Constructs obtain souls from the portals and use them to forge heartstones that they use along with gold to build their creatures. The Undead kill new creatures comming out of the portals and use their flesh to build the own armies. The Corpas and humans just get creatures form the portals as usual.
So there is some flaws with this, first; the Constructs are pure and fanatic, so one could as why would they accept a soul from a unworthy human, corpar or undead? And for the Corpars why do there come creatures from a portal at all? This was also unanswered in DK as far as I recall, there is the same problem with the humans. The undead is not really a problem, they only have to use the creatures flesh, so they do not really care about anything else.
Also how should be make the Corpars and the Humans distinc from each other and the Construcst and the Undead?
I have an idea; the humans always start above ground, and they receive reinforcements from nearby strategic points (these are the human portals). The Corpars have deeper tunnels that lead deeper down into the ground, and there they also get reinforcements. Then the Undead could use both the human and Corpar portals to obtain creatures from, and the likewise with the Constructs. The issue with the Constructs wanting pure souls could be fixed by their forging process where they make the heartstone, here they also purify/clean the spirit so it fulfill their requirements.
Any other ideas, suggestions or comments for any of these issues?
