Speed Dreams is is a 3d cross-platform, open source motorsport simulation and racing game. It is a fork of the open racing car simulator Torcs, aiming to implement exciting new features, cars, tracks and AI opponents to make a more enjoyable game for the player, as well as constantly improving visual and physics realism:

After our first release we are working on version 2 which will bring weather conditions, improved graphics, network play, more performance and new tracks and cars: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/speed- ... ToRelease2

We are a small international team and looking for more artists and developers to get Speed Dreams 2.0 done.

Here is a quick guide how you can join our team :)

Version 2 sounds very promising.

A good way to excite the community would be to put up on youtube some videos of new features, and that may lead to more contributors since more people will be taking interest in the project.

Hello Charlie,

thanks for the hint. Their are a lot of Speed Dreams videos on Youtube. Now it is possible too make a video of SD 2.0 too, because we released a first alpha of it (t this moment available as binary for Windows only). A lot of interesting news and screenies about SD 2.0 can be found at our Twitter channel too: http://twitter.com/speed_dreams

A question I can't answer: Where do I get support when I've got trouble with SD?

I had trouble finding it too when I was first looking for it. The chat room link is on the homepage: http://chat.jabberfr.org/muckl_int/inde ... eams-users

I like what you guys are doing. Sometimes TORCS development seems a little slow and unfocused, perhaps valuing the "robot" racing aspect a little too much when the majority of the time players want to race themselves. You guys seem to be working on a more polished personal racing experience.

What features are you intending for the next release?

I installed it…
The configure controls options is quite hidden, while it's the first thing I wanted to do as I don't want to drive with a mouse.
