Wiki styling :)

Is the "Overall Rank" our position in a order list of all projects on Sourceforge, where number 1 is the most popular? If so we have a score of 1120 which I think is pretty good :)

Yeah, I think that its pretty good (for comparison we were ~40,000 a couple weeks ago. However we should be rated higher because we are not getting credit for the logo hits that other projects are. The reason I am concerned with this is that high rankings on sourceforge are a great way to attract new people with skills and ideas that we as a group may not have.

qubodup {l Wrote}:I think the paper needs to be darker for that. Using GIMP´s colors/levels tool might be of help. A good example (but with a bad license ;) ) is http://wingsofahero.deviantart.com/art/ ... -117552813 !

Not bad besides the lightness

Ok I have now generated the pergament texture, do you like it?

Here is the new Mock shot with the two textures. I think the pergament is too dark, so i will lighten it a bit up.

Ok, now both have borders, so I only have to light up the pergament. What do you all think? Any suggestions to how to remove the annyoing lines the tiling makes?

Now a tat lighter, I think the text is more readable now :)

Here is the two source files for the two textures. I was not allowed to put the tgr files up, so i zipped them and added them. The svg where the stuff is put together, along with the borders on the pergament I will upload when I have figured out how to fix the annyoing tiling error :S

Great work svenskmand, these are very good, although I preferred the logo not having the paper background layer.

Well it also looked dull if it was not there. You are welcome to give a better idea, as I will admit this one is not perfect :)

Actually I think it just needs that background paper from the logo to be removed then it would be perfect.

Here it is with the paper behind the logo removed, but I still thinks that something is missing at the logo :S

I think the logo is easier to see with the paper background, however I do think the oval area you've added looks a bit funny. I would suggest extending the parchment you have on the left side (where the main page, downloads, etc is) up so that it covers the area behind the logo as well.

Wow svenskmand! Nice work! :D :D

It *might* be able to be tweaked regarding readability of the font on that background, but I'd say: let's test it first.

PS: regarding that background of the logo, it looks cool, but perhaps a fire effect around the logo (or giving some texture to the logo?) would be even better. Now the logo looks 'simple' while the rest of the page is nice and dungeon-like.

(Don't forget to post the .svg !)
For the elements lists I am going to do it soon !
For the mockup, I think is too dark to read, maybe the background texture could be a bit lighter ?
Otherwise, it is great !

Nice feedback, I am glad you like it :), I will make a mock shot with the left pergament extended up behind the logo. Regarding the svg's then I can post them but we need to fix the tiling problem, and I have no idea how to do that :(, but maybe some of you can with the svg's so I will post it today. (I am currently not on the computer where I made the things)

To try to fix the tiling problem I have upgraded from 0.46.xx to 0.47.3 of Inkscape, but with no luck - I open the old file and the problem persists, I have not tried to make a new Inkscape file and do the tiling again, as that might help. I will try that later today, but I suspect that it would also not help :S Any ideas is very welcome.

I don't think it matters. After all the tile will be used for the website. :?

PS: unless you mean for the borders? In that case: post an archive of the svg and the images you use in it) and I can try to fix it. Also, it might be related to the render/export DPI resolution (90 is default).

Looks already pretty good, but I think there's too much detail in your parchment texture. You can see too many repeating patterns, and it could still be a bit brighter. And on the background texture I would reduce the saturation of the brown parts a little bit. I attached the modified parchment texture. Readability is more important than fancy graphics on the wiki, so the details and contrasts should be very subtle. Actually I liked the look of your second screenshot.

List of missing elements :
- bottom/footer of the page
- all form elements (checkbox, button, select...)
- edit, talk...
- First heading title, second, third, fourth ... sixth
- links design
- links hover design
- paragraph: if you want text-indent or not
- summary

Yeah it is a bit too dark I just tried qubodup's suggestion for a darker pergament, but it hurts readability a lot, I will make it lighter.
