hiker {l Wrote}:A quick update: the bug is already fixed, and the new src package and windows installer are already uploaded. If you have already used version 0.7.1*, you won't have any issues since the only time the crash happens is when you are being asked if you want to connect to the internet and you select yes - which only happens at the very first time you run STK.
The mac package will be re-uploaded tomorrow. If you can't wait till then and have not used 0.7.1* before, a simple work around is: use the current 07.2-rc1 file, select 'no' when being asked about internet connection. Then go to the options and enable , and everything should work as expected.
BTW, do I have to mention this: we are always looking for testers So anyone being able to compile STK (which isn't that hard since we supply appropriate dependency packages) is welcome to help us out with bug reports!
Enjoy,
Joerg
KroArtem {l Wrote}:I don't have such problems with version from trunk (which should be practically similar to 0.7.2 rc1). Isn't it you who was using Mac and had problems with administrative rights?
Auria {l Wrote}:Hi, the OSX binary is fixed.
Iridium, I have no idea what your problem is, no one else seems to have this issue :/ Maybe a driver thing?

Support for getaddrinfo on Windows 2000 and older versions
The getaddrinfo function was added to the Ws2_32.dll on Windows XP and later. To execute an application that uses this function on earlier versions of Windows, then you need to include the Ws2tcpip.h and Wspiapi.h files. When the Wspiapi.h include file is added, the getaddrinfo function is defined to the WspiapiGetAddrInfo inline function in the Wspiapi.h file. At runtime, the WspiapiGetAddrInfo function is implemented in such a way that if the Ws2_32.dll or the Wship6.dll (the file containing getaddrinfo in the IPv6 Technology Preview for Windows 2000) does not include getaddrinfo, then a version of getaddrinfo is implemented inline based on code in the Wspiapi.h header file. This inline code will be used on older Windows platforms that do not natively support the getaddrinfo function.
The IPv6 protocol is supported on Windows 2000 when the IPv6 Technology Preview for Windows 2000 is installed. Otherwise getaddrinfo support on versions of Windows earlier than Windows XP is limited to handling IPv4 name resolution.

Errors/bugs I found on this version:
- Emule cartoon icon halved...
- Selection with mouse produces this effect (white square) as long as the mouse is over the same selection.
- Sometimes some selections also appear with a white square instead of the image.

regarding the DMG, I'm sorry, I have no idea how to make a backwards compatible one if it's possible at all (minor problem however).
Auria {l Wrote}:Regarding the failure to unpack zips, maybe you could create a ticket? this sounds like an issue worthy of investigation. However if it's an issue related to endianness it may be difficult to fix since no dev of STK or of irrlicht works on big endian computers
Auria {l Wrote}:Hi,
is this the first time you try STK? Or did it use to work and works no more?
i think this is most likely a graphics card/driver issue, possibly the lack of render-to-texture feature. Maybe you can run STK from terminal and check if any error message is logged? (Joerg, maybe you can help with Windows, I'm not sure if STK needs to be run from terminal or if it logs to a file)
Regarding Emule icon, it's normal, there just wasn't enough space for the ears in the icon -.- EDIT: unless you meant Beagle and not Emule?
