Wyrmsun AppImage (Linux x64)

Wyrmsun AppImage (Linux x64)

Postby sk1re » 15 Mar 2017, 22:12

I made an AppImage for Wyrmsun (v2.6.1). http://www.appimage.org/
It should run on every modern Linux x64 Distro. :)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/tmhdut7cx ... 4.AppImage ~251 MB

You have to make the AppImage executable:
chmod a+x Wyrmsun_2.6.1-x86_64.AppImage

I'm a huge fan of older RTS Games like Warcraft 2 or Command & Conquer.
I made a "Mission Pack" MOD for Command & Conquer 1 Tiberian Dawn.

No Problem - i enjoy compiling and making AppImages because i learn much about Linux. Wyrmsun is a great game - i always wanted to make a RTS from scratch but i never had the time to do it.
Speaking of compiling, it did not work out of the Box how it should on Linux. There were some Libraries not included, i had to add them with -l(missinglibs). But then it worked. :)

About the libraries, which ones were missing?

I did not write down a note, but i think it was --> -lvorbisfile -lasound -lpulse-simple -lpulse -ljack
I always thought CMake manages the required libraries automatically.

Hi,
i've updated Wyrmsun for Linux to version 3.3.1. This time compilation worked out of the box. :)
I could not make an AppImage because it did not create the "wyr" folder where settings are stored.
You have to unzip the file and run the script "wyrmsun_run.sh". The script works like an AppImage and you need at least glibc 2.14 installed.(type "ldd --version" in a terminal to see your glibc version)
Should run on every Linux x64 distro, tested on ArchLinux and Ubuntu 16.04.
