Hi capricom
First of all I'm very happy about your commitment!
I'm not a professional musician but I'm playing the trumpet since about 12 years in many formations (symphonic, orchestral, jazz big band etc) and think that I can give you some advices.
I personally don't like the crunchy sound of your guitar, but maybe this is just my opinion. I also hear the same basic rhythms and the same two or three tones over and over again
. I'm unable to recognise a specific music style.
0zone0ne {l Wrote}:The kind of music in SuperTuxKart is more based around memorable melodies and harmonic progressions, and must be designed from the very core to be played over and over, potentially thousands of times. The musical approach for SuperTuxKart that Krobonil and I have been going for recently is similar to the music in Mario Kart 8, which includes a variety of genres that have been mixed and matched to suit the game, predominantly featuring jazz and jazz-rock style music.
As 0zone0ne said, for STK fits funky and jazzy sounds best.
Little note:
STK is a fast and fun kart racing game. In this case I like funk very much. Funky music is always pushing forward: Never ever dragging! In your song you unfortunately drag a lot. There are many parts that aren't in time.
Jazz can be fast too, where swing is more "lay back".
I don't know how long you play the guitar or how good you really are as a musician, but I think when you compose or play music for STK you should be able to play something like this:

Along these lines, keep playing, make music and don't give up!
Cheers
