O4-MossyMntn [in ver 2.2] old Grassland

Postby rubberduck » 30 Sep 2013, 21:05

i have a new track now: Grassland, a mossy track with a few trees

this is not a hard track, more easy and it isa bit longer than the other mossy-tracks
it's also my first track with dynamic objects

i start now my next track, it is the last for now, more tracks come later (in a few weeks)

Cool. Good use of objects.
I like the bridges and grass.
But very few trees, I'll try adding something middle sized like rocks.
I think it could use some more vegetation, Fps is quite high.
Not sure about the fog, I'll tweak it tomorrow.

One tree not for tall cars. Track looks beautiful.

Maybe that which goes onto bridge. I can't find a way to fix that issue yet.

i don't see a tree in the bridge, only some grasses.

But if it is a tree, you can deform the terrain a bit there so that it more steep and there won't be a tree.

True. Just on some tracks it's not possible, eg. J11-Temple (but I like it there).

I think the track design can mostly keep this way. It nicely fits into the typical moss style.

There are technical problems with the checkpoints, namely the checkpoints at track segments 46 and 60. These checkpoints cause the annoying message “Wrong checkpoint!” when driving the track legitimately.
The checkpoint at segment 46 is too large and can easily be passed prematurely by driving the road below it. Move or shrink this checkpoint. The checkpoint at segment 60 is way too close to the starting position. Move or remove this checkpoint.

Besides from these trivial issues, I like the track design.

Ok. I edited the track somewhat.
Many corners were sudden, to narrow, not banked, etc. There was even a sudden bump/jump on road, looked like sth bad from deforming or generator.
What I did now, is changed a bit current moss setup and made it a mossy mountains scenery.
To be honest, I don't fell like this track fits to Moss (mossy jungle), it is a good mountain track, as seen from terrain (could be in style of ForestMt like in F4 and F6).
But the name doesn't fit now, how about MossyMntn or RockyMoss ?
Grassland IMO would fit for J17, it has broad meadows in places, at least I'd imagine Grassland to be rather smooth small hills, covered only with grass.
Well, since I already did that, I'd like to include it in ver 2.2 as O4-MossyMntn or sth similar, tell me what you guys think about the track like now.

I'm not a fan of the mossy scenery's default green road color as it looks unreal to me, but other than that, very likable track. It was quite relaxing to drive it as it's not too difficult.
