Re: New tracks (asphalt) ?

Bummer, I actually must have overlooked this track somehow …

Anyways. This track is remarkable in that it is first asphalt track I find to be likeable. And this means much.

What I don’t find likeable is the terrain. Sorry, a fully-flat terrain is a no-go. So I fixed it.

I created a variant, called “simple2”, which only changes the scenery. It’s probably not the best scenery, but still better than totally flat.

I made change a bit.
In Setup better change Steering range multipliers (Surface 0.8 not 1.0).

This one escaped me too. I think we only have asphalt tracks from VDrift and those are horrible, so nice to see one made in SR editor. Wuzzy did good job with the terrain. Dimproject: when creating new tracks, it's a good idea to start by applying some full-heightmap fractal noise to the terrain.

the shape is the same as D1-simple, what do you think, should it replace the track or do you want to change the shape for a new track?

Right. I also missed it.
Feels good. I like the drive, and the terrain.
The only thing wrong is that this is just the shape of D1-simple. But for test it's ok.
If you made some other road (or changed it further) to be not the same as D1-simple, we can include it in next ver.

some parts of the shape comes close to the original.

it should be a different one and i think that terrain could be changed a bit (more hills)

Wow. Is now a very cool track.
Will be in 2.2, just needs some vegetation fix.
I'm really not sure about name prefix, I'd rather call it D16-.. since it is, not exactly yellow but desert.
Any idea for a better track name, is D16-AsphaltJumps ok ?
What should I put in Author(s) field (dimproject - sounds not very human like) and Wuzzy).

D16-AsphaltJumps - well.
Sproject instead of dimproject.
I thought dim - untranslatable, although I near-sighted.

Jumps2 is nearly indistinguisable from simple3.
Jumps2 is a very good track with a well-designed terrain. It also seems that you introduced a new stunt into Stunt Rally: The tilted jump. I can’t recalling driving this on any other track before. I like it! Also the fact that the tracks are very flat is good here.

Players: You should try both Jumps2 and simple3 with the 360. These tracks are perfect for this car, because they are very flat. But I think simple3 is more suited for the 360 than Jumps2.

Stunt Rally 2.2 will be a milestone in Stunt Rally’s history because it’ll contain the first ashpalt track which I like. I think, tracks like simple3 or Jumps3 are the way to do asphalt tracks: Directly in the editor, like any other track. Now I know the reason why I hate the other asphalt tracks: They are all just cheap-ass imports and bypass Stunt Rally’s engine. It just felt so wrong.

I would make sense to call me a co-author of simple3 because I made the most terrain-work. In Jumps2, the terrain is completely different. It looks like as if it has been created from scratch. It would not make sense to call me a co-author of Jumps2 then.

PS: I noticed the asphalt has a new sound in the dev version. :)

Vegetation sometimes appears on asphalt.
Maybe less vegetation.
Maybe checks in different graphics preset.

Grass on road. I know. Is a tricky code for that, maybe someday I'll try it again.
