SR Crashes on Open

Postby BBmine » 07 Nov 2017, 15:39

I have Debian Linux, so there is no package for SR in the packaging system, so I downloaded it from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/stuntrally/files/2.6/StuntRally-2.6-linux.tar.gz/download. However, when I try to run it, it doesn't start. Here is the output:

You seem to have some issues with your AMD Radeon GPU drivers?

I would guess you are using really old AMD mesa drivers from Debian?

Are other more graphically advanced games working? I have no idea if Stunt Rally works with AMD mesa drivers, but at least newer versions have gotten good recently. However back when Stunt Rally was still under active development, these drivers were really bad, so maybe there is some never tested bug in Stunt Rally?
No idea, as I only have a Nvidia card...

Other high-graphic games like STK work fine. I can also get 60 FPS on Minetest with full view on and even at spawn.

I have this problem too. I'm very sad. :-( Stunt Rally is good race game for Linux. I played it when I used Ubuntu 32 bit. Now I use Debian 64 bit.
I'm sorry. My English is very bad.

I remember having issues with the Stunt Rally 2.6 Linux binary on Fedora 31, but it worked fine when I built it from source (https://github.com/stuntrally/stuntrally).

Building Stunt Rally from source should be fairly easy nowadays, now that all distributions include the required dependencies in their repositories.
