That helped tremendously. I now have the updated string list. You'll have to overlook my ignorance with technology! I already have a couple hundred of these strings translated from the old string list. When I get a chance, I'll update what I already have translated and post that es.po file on here. Then, as I get a chance to go through and update the new strings, I'll post those updates.

Cheers

Thanks a lot!

Ok, I have a launchpad account.
Now my point is, how can I join the contributors' group? My account there is BioHazardX.

Hi BioHazardX,

The launchpad help pages told to set the permission to the launchpad translators group by default, so people can (more) easily enter that group and start translating.

I guess you should request entering that group, (please tell me how it turns as it's new to me, too.)
Now, if there is enough interest, and if launchpad allows me, I'll request the creation of the Valyria Tear translation group.
Yet, I wouldn't restrict the translation openness too much just now, as it might permit new languages from the default translation group.

Regards,

Ok, I join the official Italian group, but I don't know how to modify and update Valyria Tear's translation... In "Overview" page, I'm not displayed as contributor in the group...

Hi BioHazardX, :)

Cool! What are you seeing when clicking on 'Translations' top left, and then clicking on 'View all languages' bottom-right?

Are you able to click on Italian and see translations sentences? Do you see the 'New translation' text boxes there?

Yes.

No, but I see "New suggestion" for every strings. This doesn't allow me to modify the untranslated strings after the save and change and adds them in the page "needs review"...

Hey Bertram,

I finally managed to find some time to work on the translation. Here are the updated strings in Spanish. As I get time to play the game in Spanish and look over the strings, I'll try to keep them updated. Sorry for taking so long to get everything done. I'm neither a techie nor have much of a life right now between work and graduate school.

Cheers!

P.S. Gonna edit the file. I'll repost it once I finish passing back through it.

Hi there :)

Thanks jahalic, it is now pushed in master!

Ok, I'll have a look.
I've reviewed your two translations. Maybe I should set you admin of translations somehow. I need to get to know how.

I've also requested a fresh import thanks of the spanish big update.

Best regards,

Ok, I've set the translation policy to structured. You should now be able to do translations directly without my review.

Hey Bertram,

What do I need to do to be able to view the Spanish strings in game? In other words, how do I update the files so that the game recognizes the new language? I would like to check it out in Spanish, so I can do cosmetic testing over the next bit. There might be some truncations or things of that sort, so I'd like to go back and check it out.

Thanks for putting up with me haha!

Best,

Jordan

Well, first of all, it depends on how you got Valyria Tear:

If you're using the git repository, you can do a 'git pull', and for now, as I didn't fix that yet, remove the CMakeCache.txt file in source folder, and 'make' again.

If you're using a Windows installation, in the po/ folder, create the following sub-folders: 'es/LC_MESSAGES'.
Then, using poedit, open the es.po file and save. poedit will create a es.mo file next to the po file.
Copy the 'es.mo' file into the 'es/LC_MESSAGES' folder and rename it to: 'valyriatear.mo'.

The Spanish translation should then work afterward.

Best regards,

Sorry Bertram, but it's as before, I can't even upload my translation to the launchpad site, the "upload translation" and "new translations" options are hidden, that's the point. And the Italian translation group seems dead, they didn't even conferm my request to join until now.

Hi BioHazardX,

Arg, too bad.

I can't even upload my translation to the launchpad site

I do think that part will remain mine to do. Keep putting the po files here in that case, I'll push them and they'll be automatically merged on launchpad at the next resync.

And the Italian translation group seems dead, they didn't even conferm my request to join until now.

That might explain why you can't do anything maybe. But are you part of the Luanchpad translation group there?
If yes, i'll try to change the policy settings again and hope it will do the trick.

Best regards,

Not yet, my request is pending approval for one week with other users (see here https://launchpad.net/~lp-l10n-it). But ok, I can upload my future translations in this topic as I have always done in the past.

Map title font (Berenika-Oblique.ttf) not support Russian letters.
Need another font (at least LinBiolinum_RBah.ttf).

I fixed some translations.

Hi dimproject,

Thanks for the translation update. I've pushed it.

I also added the following issue to not forget to fix the problem in a good way to later permit language with specific fonts:
https://github.com/Bertram25/ValyriaTear/issues/269

Merry Christmas!

Hi dimproject,

Since this commit,
https://github.com/Bertram25/ValyriaTea ... 7898261763
The font are loaded (and reloaded when needed) according to the currently selected locale.

As a result, the map titles should now display properly in Russian, but this also officially permits
to start testing asian languages using special fonts. :D

Best regards,
