Yes, it is the case already. Yet, you can't see it if you're not editing the po file using poedit and within a complete clone, unfortunately.
Or do you know a standard way to add a comment directly in the po file, visible by translators?

Looking at some .po files on the master branch, I can't see a comment for this string (neither in Kate nor in Poedit).
