Hi NaN :)

Truly sorry for the late answer. The sentence change won't make it in the 0.6 branch anyway, so I only pushed your change in master.

Best regards,

(Time for a release!!) ;)

Btw, guys.

When pushing into the repo, do you want me to use your email and nickname/actual name as authors?

It feels better to me so feel free to PM me those if interested and I'll use them from now on.

Best regards,

I can't understand

With the additional %u drunes found in this treasure added,
the party now holds a total of %u drunes.

%u drunes - %u ?, drunes (dried prunes?)

Lol, drune is the money name, taken as is from Allacrost. ;)
The %u is dynamically changed by the amount of money.
You will have to let the %u as is where a number should be placed.

Does this help you?

Hi dimproject,

(Orlinn says to Bronann) Yiek!!! Hey, you scared me.
Yiek - ?

The question was already asked in this very thread ;)
viewtopic.php?p=43560#p43560

Yiek is a sort of onomatopoeia that Orlinn says when he is afraid. It's some kind of signature for this character.

Layna Forest - show incorrect
Mountain Village of Layna - show incorrect.

As this is correct in every other language translated so far, would you mind elaborate?

Ah, I see.

It must come from the font.
In the dat/config/fonts.lua file, could you change this line:
["map_title"] = {font = "img/fonts/Berenika-Oblique.ttf", size = 30}
with another font filename for your tries?

I'll see what I can do about it when I'll get your translation merged in.

Thanks for the info and best regards,

Hi dimproject, :)

Sorry for the slow answer. I've added the ru.po files in the repo and activated it in game.
I'll use it to fox the problem by adding support to load an alternate font according to the language chosen, which will also be useful for Asian languages, for instance.

Thanks a lot for your help!

dimproject: nice to see Russian people here. Though I've looked through your translation and found some mistakes, for example,
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
msgid "The heroes fell in battle..."
msgstr "Герои впали в бою..." <-- они явно никуда не впали, а пали.

msgid "New Skill Learned:\n"
msgstr "Выучено новое умение:\n" <-- изучено. Правда это не сильно принципиально.
msgid "XP Earned: "
msgstr "XP получен: " <-- по-моему, лучше звучит "получено". Примерно как "опыта получено".

and some more, these are just for example.

Actuall I recommend to use transifex\launchpad or something similar to be able to correct mistakes and work together. Bertram, think about it. ;)

Hi KroArtem,

I knew this would come sooner or later. :)
Yeah, I have to look into that. I have to put my hands back on my transifex login, first ;)

Anyway, IMO this is never bad when people speak directly about translation problems rather than just correcting other's work without a word on it.
What I mean is that I'll still be okay if people keep putting po files here or just want to discuss l10n things here once the transifex (or launchpad) setup is done.

Hi again,

Select an item to Equip or Use. - ignored translation and show on English only.

Could you take a screenshot and put it here?

Also, I've seen that Quests, Ports, and certain other sentences aren't translated. I'll check this out.

Hi dimproject,

I've looked at this bug. It surely comes from the fact that that particular sentence is stored in a static const variable which is thus never updated.
I'll open an issue and remove that practice wherever I see it used.

Thanks for pointing out and best regards,

Hi everyone,

As requested, I've set up a launchpad project here: https://launchpad.net/valyria

Translations should be available once the one-time import request has been done.
Since it's my first time using launchpad, feel free to point out anything you see wrong there.

Otherwise, I will still accept code merge requests on github and po file updates here. :)

I suggest you restricting permissions so they won't be open. I mean, now everybody can translate your projects. Somebody can spoil translations (we had such a problem with supertuxkart's translations a year or two ago, a person (his nick was something like "386sky") used google translate or something similar to translate strings into Russian. He spoiled a lot of them and I had to redo the translation work. Since then you have to join supertuxkart's translation group on launchpad to be able to translate supertuxkart.

Just my 2 cents.

At this point, I'm extremely confused. I am trying to learn how to use these programs, but I am honestly not familiar with POEdit as I use Trados Studio for other things. How do I update the files that are currently available in the repository? What is it that I need to do in order to update the PO files for Valyira Tear? If I were somehow able to get the updated PO file in English, I don't mind to use another program and send back the corresponding Spanish PO file (or at least what I get time to translate). If that's a bother, I can try to figure it out, but I'm at a loss with how it's currently organized. I just recently started into this type of work because of school, and I don't have a computer science background at all. So, I'm currently just frustrated. Sorry for causing problems! I'd just really like to help, and before I lose time translating several hundred strings of old text again, I'd like to know what I'm doing haha.

Hi Jahalic, :)

Don't worry, translating using poedit is rather simple.

First, if you haven't downloaded or gitted the repository, you can just download those two files:
po/es.po: https://github.com/Bertram25/ValyriaTea ... r/po/es.po
po/valyriatear.pot: https://github.com/Bertram25/ValyriaTea ... iatear.pot

Once done, open poedit and open the es.po file with it.
Then, to update the catalog of strings to translate, go into 'catalog' -> 'Update using a POT file...'
and choose the valyriatear.pot file.

Poedit will then inform you about the changes, and you'll be ready to start translating.
Once done, save, and put the po file here.
