Could anybody help me to install Red Eclipse on the Raspberry Pi?
If you don't know what they are have a look at
http://www.raspberrypi.org/I would use the linux packages but as it an ARM processor I know that sometimes it isn't just that simple.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Welcome Darkfear! I saw you playing on line a couple times. Unfortunately I cannot really help you with this as i am one of the few RE players with a Mac

If you want an answer in real time, try the RE IRC (
www.redeclipse.net/chat). Depending on who is on you might get you answer faster than on here. Worth a try

Builds for ARM are available from Debian:
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/redeclipsehttp://packages.debian.org/experimental ... pse-serverFrom what I've heard the issue with ARM is OpenGL-ES which I don't think RE works with atm (nor is likely to do in the near future).
But running a server using the packages/binaries linked there on RPi should work... I think.

I know the Raspberry Pi can run Quake 3 at 1080p but that's a really optimized version thats as much as you can get out of this device and then, the game is from 1999. I'm afraid it doesn't meet the requirements to play RE. 700 mhz ARMV6 single core is not really fast (not comparable to a 700mhz x86 CPU) and 256 MB RAM is FAR to little for most games, RE needs very much video RAM and a much faster CPU. Maybe you can run cube engine if you are lucky.
