Rain?

Rain?

Postby ballist1c » 27 Sep 2012, 23:15

Hi, I am wondering how to generate the rain particle effects similar to ones found on Wet. I see a lot of particles in the menu but no rain particles. I see particle entities all over the place in Wet; is it neccesary to place these every few feet for rain to generate? How does it work? Please help ^^

1. Yes.
2. With great difficulty.

See those maps and copy what they have done, particles are complicated and I could never recite each one off the top of my head.

Yes, this can be complicated, and the number of particle entities depends much on the "direction" you pick to align and spread them. TristamK did this quite nicely on his sunset race map using large patches (dir=100012 and length=400) of tape (type=4) for the effect of falling rain. Fire is typically used where pouring rain hits the ground. You should try a dark color, e.g.:
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
/newent particles 4 268 500 0x222222
/newent particles 8 268 500 0x222222 80
