Please provide your operating system and service pack level, your graphics card, the version of the graphics drivers installed, and anything else about your system that may be useful (eg. dxdiag output). Also try getting looking for "My Documents\My Games\Red Eclipse\log.txt".

DxDiag.txt
(32.34 KiB) Downloaded 294 times
There is no log in the folder. Here is the dxdiag info on my graphics.

Did you get the full game (downloaded file should be around 500mb)? I can't see an obvious reason why it would just sit there with a black screen.

The file I downloaded was "redeclipse_1.3.1_win @ 470 MB. The program is @ C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Eclipse. The actual redeclipse icon is linked to a batch file called redeclipse in the same folder I have no understanding of this or the fact that there apparently is no actual application there is also a server batch file in the same folder.

Try this:

  • Hold down SHIFT and right click on the "bin" folder in your Red Eclipse folder.
  • Select "Open command window here"
  • In the command window, type: reclient.exe

See if that gives you any useful output. If it locks up, press CTRL+ALT+DEL and select "Task Manager", then end the process of "reclient.exe".

Just locks up with black screen and all. Can not bring up task manager through keyboard command or use the escape key or alt-F4 to quit the game have to do a hard restart to get the screen back. Does this game work on 64 bit systems?

Hi,

I had the same problem and I've resolved it by simply updating my video card drivers

That was one of the first things I did when the problem started. I just gave up and removed the game from the computer. Too bad looked good.
