Insidious r2
by Joseph "ballist1c" Calabria

About
Quick, small duel map - tri-atrium, two-level. slapped some TRaK5 on it (as always), finished in a couple days. Real happy about how it turned out.
Feedback always welcome ^^

Ballist1c,
I tried this map out when you voted for it on a server. As a reminder, my beginning constructive suggestion is to clip/noclip the walls so that small trim depth differences are wall-runnable.
Cheers

Seeing how this map ended up in the SVN, I thought I'd state my one and only complaint:

It's too dark

And no, this isn't like Bloodlust where it's just annoyingly dark. I literally can't see where I can walk, and have to completely orient myself on the small amount of light coming from a pusher, or similar things. I end up walking against walls because I can't see where I'm going. And this is even if I do /gamma 300.

Is there anything you could do about it? :(
Hats, Afros, wings and raptor feet. This game is showing progress indeed.

TheLastProject {l Wrote}:It's too dark(

Called it, ballist1c! :P Haha. :)

Downloading now.

EDIT: seems like carrying a sword mitigates the issue as the sword illuminates the world (I'm such a poet).

Full writeup coming soon.

whoa damn it's in SVN, i actually thought this map was not for inclusion, but that's cool!

i've been paying more attention to other things, i will release a small update addressing people's concerns.

in hindsight, it's honestly my really bright right monitor that causes the dark issues, and I apologize

v2 posted - all the clip fixes people wanted, and some corrections to lightradii. I'm fully happy with the map now for inclusion. :)

Ballist1c,
I easily forgive your monitor situation and the brightness. Thanks for the light and clip/noclip fixes. I will take a look at it in the game soon.
Cheers

I like the layout, but I feel that the texturing could be a bit more varied. IMO there is too much gray TRaK stuff. Lighting could also be a bit more interesting in these locations IMO.
