Hi.

This is the first map I created.
It is medium sized and you can play deathmatch, ctf and defend-the-flag.
It's possible to play with 4 teams, but only the two areas for alpha and omega are symmetrical.

update: changed many things

Layout- The bases are great, they have good layering of levels and setup, and the middle area is great. It's where they are connected that this map falls apart. The bases and middle area are both pretty nice and open. but you have made the connecting hallways so damn tiny and cramped it feels like I am being choked. There is literally no room to move around in there. You didn't think about how you move around a lot when people are shooting at you, and it shows. you need to leave much more room. Either move the bases closer to the center, or widen them, or something.

Also, middle area has some problems. you cannot move between the three levels easily enough - in fact you can't move between them at all. this needs to be fixed.

Also, because of the repetitive texturing in hallways, I got lost a lot.

Two rockets is too many for a map this size, only one is fine.

Your pushers need work, they do not send you all the way across, they need to do that without you jumping yourself. It is neccessary, look at ghost and others.

Texturing- I don't know what to say - it's your first map so I don't want to be too harsh, but think about what colours go together before putting TRaK textures everywhere. :)

For example, since this is a team-oriented map, i would suggest green/gray in the center, orange/red in the Omega Base, blue/dark blue in Alpha base.

Lighting- I know lighting is hard for a new mapper, but experiment and see what you like. In some area's its much too bright, especially in hallways.
This means you should turn down the ambient lighting.

To be honest, this is much better than most first maps. My score right now would be a 3.5 out of 10, but that could be much bigger with some small changes. It's a great start. I know I am sometimes harsh in my critique of people, but that doesn't mean your work is bad :) And please, please in the future do not make only team maps. We need some variety in Red Eclipse :)
