As previously mentioned on this forum, I did a rough sketch for a remake of "Warground" from Blood Frontier. I'm throwing this out here for whomever would like to take on the project and finish it for me. Mostly just needs entities, better lighting, and texturing, but could use a bit of TLC with regards to the layout too. Have at it, and post your version back here :)

EDIT: Update 9th October 2012 - Just needs texturing.

Rabidbutton, you marked the bases wrong. It should be on the other sides. Also waypoints should be more detailed and weapon layout different and also lighting should simulate more rays from skybox, instead of lamps I think. But I like the new geometries inside, that you made and also the ladder leading upside is a good idea. I created just geometries for the bases and jumping pads on the sides, not as models and marked position of flags. So I guess that these ideas could be put into one version for now at least (if there is a way, I think that yes).

What do you mean I marked the bases wrong, Alpha blue, Omega red, what exactly should be on the other side? it sounds like a huge mistake but I can't figure out what I did wrong XD are you meaning that they should be where the staircases are and not on the ends of the bridge?
also I will remember to make the waypoint's more detailed in the future but is it entirely necessary? when I tried it out it they seemed fine to me :)

Yes. It isn't in the edited version that I uploaded?

If you will let it like that, bots will not have many options for movements and they need that. I saw for instance just one or two paths in the one big passage.

Actually when I tried to play the edited one, it just came up as a blank map, I don't know why that is maybe I installed it wrong?

well when you put it like that :)...

I have actually got the svn version so it worked on that, if it is set up like that I think the bomber ball would need to be on the ground otherwise it might be too easy to score, I actually like the bases where I had them but that might just be a matter of preference :)

Good. The bases should be on these sides not just it was like that on the original "warground", but also because it fits, works and looks better I think.

I have done some work on the map already. It is still very much WIP as I will be redoing the lighting completely, need to add some more details here and there and give the texturing some finishing touches. I tried to respect the basic layout and texturing Quin has provided as much as possible, but cranked it up a little and emphasized the wallrunnable paths to the flag :) The small buildings on the ground still need a facelift and I flattened the ground level to redo that as well because it was too bumpy to have a smooth gameplay imo.

The screenshots below show a comparison but remember that it's far from finished.

Hmmm, you might be right. It could remind some of the renewed keystone. So I changed the green colors to orange :p The ground buildings have been revamped a bit as well.
I hope to release this weekend or next week.

Quick status update: this weekend I haven't got enough time to finish the map, but it will be done later this week. I have redone the tunnels, added some details and lighting to them and am halfway through the ground level now. I'm adding the bomb craters from the original warground again too. The rest of the lighting is done as well and all affinities are in place for DM, CTF, DTF and BB.

initially the four towers with white lighting really reminded me of the map "wet". I do like what you did with the lower ground section.
